I'm interested in buying Basic web hosting account. But my Paypal account is unverified. I'm from Sri Lanka. I do freelancing and Paypal doesn't support money receiving for my country. Therefore Paypal account is created as in Malaysia.  Hence I can't verify it. So what can you tell me about my situation.

I am currently with Dreamhost, but want to finally escape. I've read a lot of reviews and HH seems to be very highly rated, but before making the move I wanted to know about migration.

Unfortunately, Dreamhost doesn't use CPanel. It seems to be their own custom panel, so I'm guessing I can't just import my backup into HH's CPanel. Any advice on easing the pain of migration?

Somehow I cannot access and login to my ticket account as well even after i request for new password

We'll be upgrading all servers PHP 4 version to PHP 4.4.7 tonight which will require a few web server restarts which should not be noticable. We're very sorry about the short notice on this it has just been a common request for us to upgrade and we feel it would be best to upgrade now. Since it does not require any down time what so ever we feel it's not much of a big deal to upgrade.

Now we'll also be upgrading all PHP5 versions to PHP 5.2.3 on Saturday June 16th during the day. Just like the PHP4 upgrade this will result in no down time just a few web server restarts to confirm that PHP 5 is working.

The reason for these upgrades is to patch several PHP holes that have been discovered and as a result patched in these versions.

Just had a question about SSL certificates and dedicated IPs.

I already have a SSL certificate and will be bringing it over with me from my old hosting provider. In order to have a SSL certificate on Hawk Host servers, will I be required to purchase a dedicated IP as well? I ask because while shopping around, I've seen some hosting providers require it if using a SSL certificate and others, like Hawk Host, make no mention of such requirement.

Please bare with me with my relatively lack of understanding, but i recently decided to use this service not long ago and are kinda 'confuzzled'.

I just switched from iPage, and also just initiated the transfer of my domain to HawkHost during my initial setup. I fully expect this to take awhile (especially when it is during the weekends), but how do I gain access to my cPanel if the domain is still being pointed to my iPage website? I can't find any IPs that links me to my account in Hawkhost. ^^"

Now i've been reading people crying 'Activate plz!' so perhaps my account isn't activated yet... But I'm staring at my Client Area, and everything seems to be in order, except maybe that my Credit Card still hasn't been charged. (Though it is listed as Paid in the invoice)

I've tried logging in to 2 seperate accounts of two people working on support issues for our sites, and neither are working now. I've done a password reset on both as well, and still can't login with the new password entered.

Can anyone help me out with this?

one can click on My Support and go to the Kayako help desk page, giving a link to Submit a Ticket.

How does one view open tickets and respond to them? Only see nav choices for "Submit a Ticket".

So after a month of good service, I go to login to my account, and i see that I can't. It says "Login Details Incorrect. Please try again."
 
As anyone would do at this point, I go to reset my password where I get this message "No client account was found with the email address you entered"

If this is in the wrong section, please tell me where to move it (Couldn't find the "Support" section)
 
Oh, and my Support.Hawkhost.com account doesn't work either, so I can't make a ticket.

I have got the Standard shared plan and am thinking about having an SSL Cert. for the account for the order system.

I understand a dedi IP is $3 per month.

1. How is this billed, as in will it be a different date to my shared plan or will it be put in line with it?
2. Will my site have any downtime when the IP is changed?
3. Is there any install cost from you?
4. How would I get the CSR?

What are ways to gain fast google page ranks? My site www.clanwrt.com is currently at 1/10 anyone got suggestions?

Very small change to our domain registration offerings, but we're now accepting 2 and 3 year registrations and renewals on the following domains:

Previously the longest term we offered was one year. Pricing for all these TLDs is $21.90 for 2 years and $32.85 for 3. We're also looking into offering some different domains, specifically .ca, com.au, .net.au, .me, and maybe a few others.

Hi. I was just wondering if attacks are getting worse as time goes by. I've heard of people who have had attackers report their IP to spamhaus or spamcop.net by inserting the target's ip and other identifying info into spam emails. After a week or two of this the target gets shut down by their provider. I'm only learning of this today and I'm not saying it's happening to me, but if it does, please don't proclaim me guilty until proven innocent... I read about it on this blog, http://www.bluehatseo.com/ , and I don't know how much validity there is in it but was wondering if it's a common occurrence around these parts. Bots swarming everywhere with their gibberish, time to consider extra measures?

Well it appears the Spammers have smartened up to SpamAssassin with a vengeance now on my end. With the majority of my Spam going right past their filters. I thought about trying to lower the SpamAssassin threshold, but my concern here is I may bust too many innocent emails. What kinds of things have you folks tried to knock the Spam Count down within SpamAssassin these days?

Anyone who has W3 Total Cache or WP Super Cache installed on their Wordpress blogs should update the plugins immediately. A serious vulnerability has been discovered.
