Hey folks, Subscribing to the forum is actually the best way to find out about maintenance notices for the server(s) you're on, and the location(s) you're in. We don't send mass emails out for things like this. We used to be we were flooded with complaint emails, people telling us they didn't care, etc. So we decided to use the forums and provide an opt-in system for all users. You were one of the many who took advantage of this, so it's good to see that. We always suggest using your domain name to access cPanel, which is what's provided in your original new account information email. While the servers hostname isn't a problem, situations like this will create an issue if we do happen to do a migration. As you all have read I'm sure in our original notice, this was a seamless upgrade (no downtime or changes to users accounts), and you also now get access to shared only hosting features along with a hardware upgrade as well. It's important that we're open and honest with our users. We never want you guys to feel out of the loop, and we do our best to post updates about everything we do on various channels (these forums, our blog, Facebook, Twitter). If you guys want anymore information about why we do things the way we do, feel free to post back or contact us via support ticket.

Pointing NS domain to Hawk Host without breaking email
Brian replied to someguy03's topic in Shared Hosting
As long as your MX records are pointing to the same email servers in both DNS zones, you shouldn't lose any emails once you change the nameservers over. As Cody said though you could also just point an A record to our servers and keep the DNS hosted at Network Solutions, that way you don't run any risk of losing emails at all. -
If your site does outgrow the current bandwidth plan contact our sales team and we'll work something out.

Currently using NetEarth One

Never personally used Installatron however we include Softaculous with all of our shared and reseller accounts and we absolutely love it, and so do our users.

Welcome to the forums! Glad to hear you've had a good first impression. Keep us posted as the months go on, we love getting continual feedback and updates from users as they continue to utilize our services more and more. Thanks for taking the time to write this!

All sites and services should be fully accessible at this time. Thank you to everyone for being patient throughout the downtime. As Cody mentioned, we'll be providing a more detailed explanation of todays issues within the next 24 hours once we're able to compile all the necessary information of what led to the crash.

Our sysadmin team is still actively and fully engaged in this issue, and we're progressing as expected. If everything continues as planned we should have services restored soon.

Can you please provide some more detail here? Are you having a problem, looking to install something, etc?

All of the shared plans support SSL certificates - that is, you're free to install them. They do not include one however. Your account would need to have a dedicated IP ($2/mo, billing on the same term as your hosting plan) and then you'd need to purchase a certificate from a third party issuer. Once you've done that there is the SSL/TLS option within cPanel which allows you to install the certificate to your site.

If you ordered the VPS and chose not to go with cPanel / WHM you may want to look into a control panel like Webmin (http://www.webmin.com/) which is free and easy to install. This will give you a basic control panel to at least administer the system. As far as the rest goes, there is a bit of a learning curve when it comes to managing your databases, Apache, named/bind, etc. We have no tutorials on this since they go outside the scope of our support but there should be plenty available on a search engine like Google to get you started.

We're not blocking anything that would prevent it's use or effect the performance. This thread may also be relevant:
