  1. This maintenance has been completed.
  2. All payouts are made via Paypal once you reach the minimum balance ($100). Any amount under that can be applied as an account credit for services with us.
  3. First off your topic title got a good chuckle out of some of the staff here at our operations office. Kudos on that. Secondly you could look into something like http://www.countryipblocks.net which will generate a .htaccess for you blocking all of the allocations registered to a specific country. Disclaimer: I have never personally used this, though I know many of our clients have in the past with (I assume) success.
  4. This maintenance applies to all shared, reseller, VPS and backup servers Scheduled Maintenance - GLOBAL [06/25/2011-06/26/2011] Date: Saturday, June 25, 2011 (06/25/2011) and Sunday, June 26th, 2011 (06/26/2011) Start Time: 12:00 AM EDT End Time: 04:00 AM EDT Services affected: Public / Private Network Location: GLOBAL Duration: 28 hours Event summary: Datacenter engineers will be performing global maintenance on their backbone. During this maintenance, engineers will be implementing a number of policy changes related to route announcement and accepting routes from providers and peers. This work is required to support continued growth within the network and future global expansion. This is a continuation of the maintenance window from June 18th - June 19th. Due to the scope of this change, the work has been scheduled across the following dates: Saturday June 25th 12:00 - 04:00 AM EDT Sunday June 26th 12:00 - 04:00 AM EDT Customer impact: While engineers expect no outage during this maintenance, customers may experience higher latency and/or packet loss while routes reconverge across the network.
  5. Yes, the backups are taken once per day and retained for 7 days.
  6. We keep 7 days worth of backups of all your account files and databases. In the event a restoration is needed of files, you're able to do that directly through cPanel via the R1Soft utility. If you need a database restored our sysadmins need to do that for you so you should submit a ticket with us (https://support.hawkhost.com) and provide us the name of the database you need restored along with the date it should be restored from.
  7. This should help: http://www.hawkhost.com/affiliate
  8. Bandwidth is easier to work with since its not a fixed value per server like disk space. Still would require a support ticket though to do anything.

    Parking Domains

cPanels own documentation does a really good job of explaining this: http://docs.cpanel.net/twiki/bin/view/AllDocumentation/CpanelDocs/ParkedDomains
  10. We have VPS plans available at http://www.hawkhost.com/vps which you may want to look at -- they all come with equal share CPU the variation depends on what type of disk space, bandwidth and memory your site requires.
  11. Disk space is tough for us since we opt for higher performance, lower capacity disks (300GB 15k SAS drives) vs the alternative of lower performance but higher capacity. I'd suggest contacting our billing department via ticket and in the ticket advising exactly how much additional disk space you need and we'll see if anything can be done in this case.
  12. This maintenance window has been completed.
  13. This maintenance was completed as scheduled.
  14. A managed host will configure and help setup your environment and continue to support you through the duration of your service term. An unmanaged VPS means you're on your own to set it up / configure it and a support team will assist if you run into big problems but they're not your sysadmins/webmasters.
  15. Currently we do not have services available in Asia, all of our hosting is based in the US (Dallas TX, Seattle WA, Washington DC, San Jose CA). By the end of the year we should be open in Singapore and Amsterdam assuming our provider stays on schedule
  16. Sounds like our standard plan at $5.95 per month would be a good fit for you. Full details on it can be found here: http://www.hawkhost.com/shared

  18. About how much space and bandwidth do you require? That'd be the determining factor as any of our plans would be fine to host a static site with images.
  19. On Wednesday June 15th between 1:00am and 4:00am CDT we will be replacing memory on the Lightning server. We have reason to believe the memory is failing and causing system crashes so we will be replacing it. While the maintenance window is open for 3 hours, we expect less than 30 minutes of total downtime. If you have any questions regarding this maintenance notice please do not hesitate to contact our systems administration department. Date: 06/15/2011 Start time (CDT): 1:00am End time (CDT): 4:00am Duration: 3 hours Estimated Down Time: 30 minutes
  20. The server has been back online for a bit now, but this crash was again caused by memory. We'll be resolving this issue permanently with our provider as soon as we can.
  21. Hey -- it looks like the machine just crashed again due to memory. Everything is back up now but we're going to get a replacement window scheduled ASAP and we'll post a notice in the forums once that's scheduled. Sorry about the issues! :(
