We've got some interesting blog posts coming up here shortly (more technical/nerdy ones) from some of our systems engineers and developers which I'm personally looking forward to reading. Being more of an operations/customer service guy myself, my posts tend to be more in the obscure, or what our company is up to, changes we're making to the business, etc.

I figured I'd open up the floor and see if there is anything you guys would like a "behind the scenes" post about? Obviously if your ideas involve revealing trade secrets or non-public information I'd not be able to write about that, but if you have an idea let me know and I'll see what I can do!

Can anyone here tell me what is wrong with this code?

(If you don't have the answer... Please like this post knowing that I wasn't someone who opened up a wasteful support ticket. I imagine that happens a lot.)

Anyone who has W3 Total Cache or WP Super Cache installed on their Wordpress blogs should update the plugins immediately. A serious vulnerability has been discovered.

I made an "official" post at http://forums.hawkhost.com/topic/2319-semi-dedicated-plans-now-available/ but since that forum doesn't permit comments/feedback, I wanted to open up a topic here to introduce our newest service, semi-dedicated hosting.

What do you guys think of the plans? Any feedback or suggestions you can make initially? These plans are brand new, we launched them maybe an hour before I made this post so we're very receptive to feedback and opinions right now.

Pardon me if my question to follow is a bit ignorant-sounding...I'm not entirely sure how this would work.

There's a community radio station in the small town that I live in, and they stream their live radio broadcast over the internet using a streaming provider called "NetroMedia" (the radio station uses a cheapo PC running Windows Media Encoder, and I guess WME sends the stream to NetroMedia somehow...specifically though, I'm not sure what role Netro exactly plays).

I just volunteered with them, and I'm looking to improve their service, since they say the Netro stream conks out fairly frequently and has never worked properly. I guess my question is: if I signed them up with a hosting account via Hawk Host and got them a proper domain name, would there be a way to stream their audio via that hosting account? Some kind of streaming server installation maybe? I'm not too sure how it might work.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Well let everyone know why you chose HawkHost. Me personally I chose HawkHost because their site + forums just looked more friendly than any other web host I'v seen.

Ohh and their mascot is AWESOME!

I've tried logging in to 2 seperate accounts of two people working on support issues for our sites, and neither are working now. I've done a password reset on both as well, and still can't login with the new password entered.

Can anyone help me out with this?

Just curious how Xenforo compares to VBulletin in terms of resource usage?

I'm just curious what video games everyone is playing right now.

For me right now I'm working my way through Batman Arkham Asylum (awesome game) and picked up Need For Speed Shift. Both are for my 360 although I do have a ps3 as well.

As far as PC games I play a game of Quake Live once in a while but that's about it.

So how about anyone else?

Well it appears the Spammers have smartened up to SpamAssassin with a vengeance now on my end. With the majority of my Spam going right past their filters. I thought about trying to lower the SpamAssassin threshold, but my concern here is I may bust too many innocent emails. What kinds of things have you folks tried to knock the Spam Count down within SpamAssassin these days?

So after a month of good service, I go to login to my account, and i see that I can't. It says "Login Details Incorrect. Please try again."
 
As anyone would do at this point, I go to reset my password where I get this message "No client account was found with the email address you entered"

My websites still work, just no CPanel.
If this is in the wrong section, please tell me where to move it (Couldn't find the "Support" section)
 
Oh, and my Support.Hawkhost.com account doesn't work either, so I can't make a ticket.
 
I still have my Paypal receipt if the admins need it to confirm.

Hi. I was just wondering if attacks are getting worse as time goes by. I've heard of people who have had attackers report their IP to spamhaus or spamcop.net by inserting the target's ip and other identifying info into spam emails. After a week or two of this the target gets shut down by their provider. I'm only learning of this today and I'm not saying it's happening to me, but if it does, please don't proclaim me guilty until proven innocent... I read about it on this blog, http://www.bluehatseo.com/ , and I don't know how much validity there is in it but was wondering if it's a common occurrence around these parts. Scroll down to the part that deals with How to take down a competitor's website...

How does one view open tickets and respond to them? Only see nav choices for "Submit a Ticket".

Just curious who designed the mascots for both HawkHost & FrogHost?

We should find a way to get these forums more active! I would love to get on this forums as much as I do other ones, I also think it could decrease HawkHost's costs if users posted some support questions here and other users could try and help them out! If you guys have any ideas I would love to hear them I wanna grow this forum!!
