Should we begin offering another location for our reseller services we'll have it posted on our blog/Facebook page/Twitter and we'll also open a thread up here on our forums.

Our system do ICMP filtering so we drop excessive packets which explains the loss you're seeing by pinging the IP continually. As for the upload issue it's nearly impossible to troubleshoot without some more details specific to your account so if you haven't already, please submit a ticket at https://support.hawkhost.com and our helpdesk team will help you out

Unfortunately I don't know of anything that would work offhand. A lot of live streaming software / any video elements on a site will rely on ffmpeg which we don't offer on our shared/reseller plans.

W/ HH shared hosting - possible to create new cPanel user?
Brian replied to jfvtech's topic in Shared Hosting
Hey John -- welcome to the forums! On a shared hosting account it's not possible to create a second cPanel user, you'll only have the primary login. If the partner needs access to any cPanel functions they'd need your primary login. You can provide them an FTP account and restrict their access to a single directory which is what a lot of users do. -
Shared hosting accounts only support one dedicated IP per account. You would either need a second shared hosting account for the domain or you'd need to upgrade to a reseller plan, turn the addon domain(s) into cPanel accounts, and then you could have multiple dedicated IPs. Keep in mind you will need to be able to provide valid justification for the IPs before we allocate them to you.

Assuming the software they're using is compatible on our servers that's no problem. If you let us know exactly what they're using for these we can confirm whether or not it'll work.

403 Forbidden Access to this resource on the server is denied!
Brian replied to zzuum's topic in Scripts & Programming
Can you please submit a support ticket at https://support.hawkhost.com for this? In the ticket please provide your WP admin login details and your accounts primary domain name! -
It could be mod_sec triggering rules to stop your software from doing something, but without knowing your domain name with steps to replicate the issue it is impossible to say for sure. If you could please submit a ticket for this so we can let you know for sure (if you haven't already). You're correct in that a public forum can be a valuable resource, especially when it's a relatively obscure topic like this. I was just suggesting the ticket as most users prefer a speedy / accurate response time vs waiting to keep it in a public domain. Obviously if you're not treating this as urgent we have no problem keeping an active discussion here It should be in the .htaccess where your blog is. So if the blog is in your public_html directory edit it there or if it's an addon domain under public_html it'd be in whatever directory that domain is pointing to. We use mod_sec to prevent against common software exploits / attacks to protect users. If you keep your software/plugins up to date you'll reduce your risk and exposure as it mostly prevents against out of date scripts that can be exploited. Which part of our setup is most troubling to you, is it our implementation of mod_sec? If you have any concerns over the way we've got our environment we'd love to clear that up so just let us know. Our sysadmins are a friendly bunch who don't mind (who am I kidding, they love it) ranting about our technology.

We do have mod_security enabled on all of our servers. You can disable it for your account however by following these instructions on our KB: https://support.hawk...&kbarticleid=96 Edit: Also, questions like this are generally best answered via support ticket at https://support.hawkhost.com -- while we'll always reply here, we'll reply to a ticket a whole lot faster

Cool beans! If anything else comes up give us a shout

Based on this post, it shouldn't be an issue: http://www.ecwid.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5369 If you have any custom requirements let us know though I suspect what you're looking to run should be fine on our servers.

Thanks for signing up with us and welcome to the forums! To answer your question you can change your billing period any time, all you need to do is submit a ticket with our billing department. That can be done at https://support.hawkhost.com.

Setups are usually done within 20 minutes but can take a little longer, depends if it gets flagged for any reason. If your order hasn't been setup at this point please contact our sales department and we can let you know what is going on with the order

Hiya! Welcome to the forums and hopefully soon our services While we can't say for sure without knowing exact bandwidth/space numbers, you should be fine with our basic plan. Now I'm not sure if you require a separate cPanel login for each domain and in the case you do, our reseller plans start at $18.95 which would provide that though it may be more than what you need. Should a separate cPanel login for each domain name not be a requirement you can start off with our basic shared hosting plan. You can upgrade at any time (should you need to) but it'd make the most sense to start off small and upgrade as needed. We allow you to upgrade plans at any time, without downtime, and just pay the difference between plans so it's a very easy process. Domain transfers (for the actual domain registration) are $9.95 per domain name and can be handled right when ordering. You'd just need to provide the EPP code for the domain(s) you wish to transfer. Keep in mind you can leave the registration at the existing registrar and just change the nameservers to ours if you wanted. Phew, enough typing! If you have any other questions either update this forum or feel free to contact our sales department for further help. Cheers!

help me! VPS can be installed OPENVPN it?
Brian replied to q2153204's topic in Virtual Private Servers
I believe you submitted a ticket regarding this, however yes we do allow you to install OpenVPN on a VPS and it supports TUN/TAP. -
The old standard reseller plan has 3GB of disk and 30GB of bandwidth. We redid our reseller plans about 6 months ago but didn't force anyone to upgrade.

Giving Hawk another chance after a very disappointing first day
Brian replied to ecl's topic in Suggestions
To start, James I see you have a ticket in (which I've replied to), so I'd like to ask you to read that reply because it'll go over a lot of what I'll say here. As for your post: Our phone and livechat support is available from 10AMEDT-6PMEDT Monday through Friday and that is for all departments (except abuse. All abuse is handled in a ticket). So hop on chat or give us a call during those hours and you should be able to get in touch with someone. Outside of those hours you may find someone available (a lot of our employees like to stay late / put in extra time) but it is not a guarantee. A support ticket will always be your most efficient means for obtaining support from us. You're right in that we should look to advertise this more heavily instead of putting equal emphasis on all means of help from us. Yep, this is something that needs to be improved and there is no other way to put it. For what it's worth, we have an internal issue tracker / bug system which we use to keep our projects organized. We have an open issue to find a voice which will be a bit more soothing to callers than our existing recording. Not an excuse but we're not entirely ignorant to the fact that the phone system needs improvement at that level. Right now, no there is not. You're going to experience 99.9% uptime or higher. This is backed by our SLA and I can confidently say we hit those uptime goals on every server every month. Our sysadmin / technical team is one of the best in the business (I think at least!) and they do one hell of a job keeping us where we need to be in terms of uptime / performance for our users. I appreciate posts like this since it forces us to take a step back and think about how we're being perceived vs what we're delivering. Clearly there are a few areas we're coming up short and need to work on improving. I maintain we are one of the most reliable + well respected hosts in our market (that is, not competing with the 800 lb gorillas of the industry) and really believe you'll be satisfied with our services if you give it a chance. Please post here if there is something I haven't addressed in enough detail or you have any other concerns. I can also be reached off the boards via PM or just get back to me in your ticket and I'd be happy to continue discussions. Cheers!
