This has been responded to. Keep in mind billing issues like these typically fall under normal business hours.

This is normal DNS behavior. Depending on your ISP and their DNS policies it may take up to 72 hours for the DNS changes to be noticed by them. If you know how you can always change what DNS servers you're using (8.8.4.4, 8.8.8.8 for Google DNS). It's likely the proxy you're using already caught the DNS changes hence why it's loading for you when you use it. This sounds like it could be a mix between a DNS issue and maybe a software issue. I would recommend submitting a ticket to support with some more details / example pages so we can investigate it further. By default directory listings are enabled. You should be able to disable this through .htaccess or through cPanel. If you put a index.html file it would then serve that and not show the directory.

It actually bit both Tony and I's arm off today. So much for teething

This maintenance window has been closed. Unfortunately due to some unforeseen circumstances the machine is not yet utilizing CloudLinux. We will be reposting maintenance windows in several weeks when we resolve a few issues.
-
We'll be postponing this maintenance until further notice.
-
We'll be extending this maintenance window while we diagnose some lingering issues. There should be little service interruptions during this time period.
-
We're temporarily disabling cPanel during this maintenance window. Everything is online per usual except your control panel.
-
This will be starting shortly and should only affect users for about 5-10 minutes.
-
The easiest way to go about this is to modify your e-mail in the client area (https://my.hawkhost.com) to something you can access. Then submit a new ticket (click new ticket / new account) and use the e-mail in question. You should be able to get through. The biggest thing is to make sure the e-mails line up in billing / support. PM me the webmail URL / server settings you're using .

On Wednesday August 25th between 6am and 9am PDT we will be switching the Spitfire server to CloudLinux. The window is for 3 hours however we estimate there will only be about 10 minutes of downtime while we reboot the server in order to load the CloudLinux kernel. CloudLinux will allow for us to better control resources being utilized by users as well as to better track the usage. This should result in an even more stable environment where single users will be unable to cause service degradation in most situations where typically a technician would be required to intervene to stop any service degradation a user may be causing. With this change a user who is using an abnormal amount of resources will see strictly their website slow down rather than the entire server slowing down. This is an extension of todays maintenance. We ran into unexpected issues relating to the software we used so we have to postpone this until tomorrow. If you have any questions about this maintenance window do not hesitate to contact support. Date: 08/25/2010 Start time (PDT): 6:00am End time (PDT): 12:00pm Estimated Down Time: 10 minutes Duration: TBD

It's sending Jakara Commons-HttpClient header which is a library part of Jakarta Commons (Java stuff). As speedturtle pointed out the IP is hosted at amazon (most likely their cloud services) so it's likely just a bot scanning for vulnerabilities / outdated WordPress installations. Simply blocking it per speedturtle's suggestion would be the best idea

The limits would likely be the same unless we decided to offer a different type of addon (ex: guarantee up to a certain threshold of resources) - I however don't see that happening anytime soon as the primary reason for this is to ensure the stability of the server / to prevent crashing due to a single user. Ultimately if you're surpassing these limits you're likely not suited for a shared environment in the first place. We're not setting the limit thresholds too low to affect people / milk the machines resources but to ensure a single individual can't exhaust the resources. Think of it as a fail safe for _if_ a user / script wants to hog a lot of resources it will be limited. We could however offer a whole new tiered "Guaranteed resources hosting" or something of that nature. Baby steps however . Now unfortunately we've ran into some issues with our first CloudLinux deployment that didn't happen in our test environment so we're investigating that / working with the developers of the software involved to get this ironed out.

This is not allowed - if we receive a complaint (DMCA, infringement, etc) we'll be forced to act upon it and ask you to remove the content in question.
-
Due to unforeseen issues with CloudLinux and our current software stack we'll be rescheduling this maintenance window in the near future.
-
This has been completed.

Please do not sell / offer services of that nature in our forums. Thanks!
-
Hopefully not however if you intend on sticking with us it may be easier (and cheaper) to prepay as to avoid this every month (assuming you're not already). Alternatively you can pay with something such as Paypal.

I'm assuming this ticket was attended to already. Usually this means it was denied due to an address mismatch, insufficient funds or of the invoice is below $3 our merchant will deny it.

Earlier this morning Mars experienced a brief bout of slowness / crashed. After a reboot everything is online and optimal. It appears the issue was something exhausted all of the memory in the server rapidly causing SWAP usage / high disk IO that ultimately brought the machine to a halt. We're currently investigating the origins.

We would indeed be offering services in Europe if / when SoftLayer opens facilities there.

Your best bet is to contact the author of the plugin and or post on the phpBB forums as this issue is specific to them. It looks like one of the queries within the mod is simply using a bad query. You _should_ be able to copy over the original phpBB files and just replace the config to access your ACP. Another option is using R1Soft backups to restore to a point before you attempted to install the mod and try again. https://support.hawkhost.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=91

We experienced a very large DDoS in the early morning which lasted for roughly 50 minutes. We've been able to find the target and remove them from the machine so these attacks should stop entirely. The total attack size was roughly 30Gigs. We'll be monitoring the server for the next 24 hours as well as working with the data center to ensure everything is back to normal. We're very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Login to cPanel and in the left column near the bottom there should be a "Dedicated IP" section that lists the IP of the domain. Yes, use the search find the domain and click the big cPanel logo.
-
We can move this for you - if your previous host uses cPanel the process is simplified greatly and we'll only require either a backup file generated via cPanel and or the login credentials to your current host so we can transfer. If they don't use cPanel we can transfer it but it won't be as complete - things such as e-mails, stats and so forth will need to manually be recreated. The files, databases and such would be migrated without issue . There is no fee for us transferring stuff for you, just submit a ticket to our support department . **EDIT** Things like this will be attended to quicker if you submit them to our sales department. You're more than welcome to post here however we can't guarantee as timely of a response.
