You're quite welcome, and by the way welcome to our forums

If you submit a ticket with our 'Account Transfer' department at https://support.hawkhost.com and provide your old host login credentials we can handle this for you

Currently there is no way to get from our helpdesk to the client area with a single link or any other of our properties, and I'm afraid there is no way to modify that. However, the following navigation options exist: 1) To get to our helpdesk from our client area, simply hit 'My Support' in the navigation menu once logged in and it'll take you there. 2) By default cPanel opens the file manager in a new tab in your browser, so you should simply need to either navigate back to the parent tab or close the file manager session and your browser should take you right back. We cannot modify this as we do not develop the control panel software. 3) There is a nav menu in cPanel titled "Hawk Host Links" -- this contains a direct link to our client area, helpdesk, forums, knowledgebase and a few others. That said I think you're looking for a more monolithic solution instead of separate properties for each portion, which is understandable. That in mind we use a number of different software solutions for our web properties (Kayako for our helpdesk, WHMCS for billing, IPB for forums, cPanel for our control panel) so a full integration isn't possible without developing a completely in-house suite. As much as I'd like to do that it simply isn't practical currently. Hope this helps clear up some of your concerns!

We'd need to know what specific directories/files you're referring to but there are a number of directories that must exist under your home directory for the account to function properly. For account security I would advise submitting a ticket at https://support.hawkhost.com so we can determine the specific files and safely/securely discuss your account details

If this has not been resolved and this issue is still pending please PM me your ticket ID. What likely happened here is some of the details on your account caused the order to be flagged as fraud, which requires manual overview by a member of our management team. That in mind our management crew is generally only available during the day (Eastern time zone) on business days so there are a number of factors at play here which may have caused this delay. Either way I do apologize since a 20 hour wait is not acceptable. Should you have any other issues or concerns please PM me or submit a ticket at https://support.hawkhost.com to our billing department and asked for it to be addressed to myself (Brian). Thank you very much!

no command in htaccess works to set charset
Brian replied to helenp's topic in Scripts & Programming
I'm not sure if you've sorted this out yet or not but in the event you haven't I believe there was (is) a bug with the latest version of the webserver software we're using that causes issues along these lines. Please contact our helpdesk team (htttps://support.hawkhost.com) with this issue and we can let you know for sure what is going on here -
Joomla may keep logs on this separately but I'm not 100% sure on that front. For what we provide you could look at your FTP access logs in cPanel for any unknown logins, or alternatively if you contact our helpdesk/support team we have tools we can use to determine if there was access on the account outside of permitted users

Whoops, sorry about that. The knowledgebase article you read was out of date and has been updated, the correct cost for transfer is $10.95. Any domains registered through us or transferred to us should appear in your client area under 'My Domains' -- if they are not please submit a ticket to our billing department at https://support.hawkhost.com and let us know the domain in question so we can investigate. The document root of a hosting account cannot be changed, so your primary domain will always reside at /home/$username/public_html -- You can however point addon domains to any directory you'd like inside your account. You're 100% absolutely correct here, there are a whole lot of logins to remember and we want to fix that. Now we have no immediate plans of integrating cPanel login credentials or the forums, however we will be rolling out a new version of our helpdesk software which will allow users to share the same password for the client area *and* the helpdesk. Small change but we think it'll help significantly with password management for our customers. I'm not going to move this thread because I think it has some valuable info for customers looking for reviews or some insight into our company. That said, I would always recommend using our helpdesk for questions/issues as you'll get a reply from us much sooner than to a forum thread Thank you for signing up and for taking the time to write this post out, we really appreciate these things

Changing billing cycle to Semi Annually -shared hosting
Brian replied to justmya's topic in Sales Questions
Please submit a ticket with our billing department at https://support.hawkhost.com with this request if you haven't already. We'll gladly take care of this for you, we just can't do it through a forum post -
You would need to have a valid address based in either the US or Canada to be eligible for an AdWords coupon, and this address would need to be the one set on your client profile. You can contact our sales team at https://support.hawkhost.com for clarification if needed!

Have you contacted our support team regarding this? As long as your account is on our servers there's absolutely no reason our system shouldn't be taking backups.

While I've never used this personally it looks like a concise writeup on how to accomplish this for RHEL based systems: http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/opensource/secure-temporary-files-in-linux/171

I'm basing my answers off the assumption you're using cPanel, so if that is incorrect please let me know! 1) Does your current host use cPanel? If so migrating sites/accounts is a very easy process. 2) We can handle this for you, you'd just need to provide the login details to the old control panel 3) The only downtime would be associated with DNS propagation due to changing the site IPs/nameservers. The site would't actually be down, it would just appear that way until your cache updates. 4) You can use a preview URL for all accounts to verify they transferred properly. Let us know if you have any follow up questions! Additionally you can submit a ticket at https://support.hawkhost.com with our sales team and they can help out

All of our hosting accounts fully support RoR -- as mrnothersan pointed out a support ticket at https://support.hawkhost.com will always get you a quicker reply than posting on our forums!

How to put the main domains bind to a sub folder
Brian replied to xianrui8705's topic in Shared Hosting
I'm afraid there's no way for us to modify the document root for your accounts primary domain name, so if I understand what you're looking to do properly unfortunately it isn't possible. Your primary domains root will always be /home/$user/public_html -- only addon domains allow you to specify the path under the public_html directory. -
Awesome, glad to hear you got that sorted out!

Hey guys, Our sysadmin crew is taking a peak at this now. Someone from our team will update this thread with some more info shortly!

Hello, Please submit a support ticket regarding this issue at https://support.hawkhost.com -- we'll need to investigate why exactly this is happening for your account. The server itself does not appear to be having any issues and I'm able to reach your accounts primary domain fine. Thank you!

Do you by any chance have a redirect setup in cPanel, or in your .htaccess file? It sounds like that could be happening. You may also want to submit a ticket at https://support.hawkhost.com for this so we can grab your account details and fix this
