  1. Please submit a ticket with our billing department at https://support.hawkhost.com for us to disable whois protection for you. Thank you!
  2. We'll be performing file system maintenance on this server on Friday, October 19th between the hours of 10:00AM PDT-1:00PM PDT. This is due to us noticing file system inconsistencies and as a result, we decided to perform scheduled maintenance to prevent an unexpected crash and risk potential file system corruption. While the window is open for three hours we expect actual downtime to be no more than one hour. Date: 10/19/2012 Start time (PDT): 10:00AM End time (PDT): 1:00PM Duration: 3 hours Estimated Down Time: 1 hour As always you can reach our support team via ticket at https://support.hawkhost.com for any questions during the maintenance. Additional updates and information can be found at http://www.hawkhoststatus.com/services/spitfire
  3. We published this on our blog earlier today but I wanted to open a thread here as well to get your thoughts/feedback: http://blog.hawkhost.com/2012/10/15/hawk-host-and-cancer-awareness/ In short we're going to be donating money to the American Cancer Society for every order we receive using coupon code beatcancer -- the amount donated depends on how much you save. I'm hard pressed to think of a single person I know in my personal life who hasn't been impacted by cancer in one way or another. Everyone here at Hawk Host is determined to help make a difference, even beyond this initial fund raising event. We hope everyone takes a few minutes and checks out the ACS website at http://www.cancer.org/ to see how you can help give back.
  4. Are you setting this cron up manually through CLI or cPanel? If you haven't already I would suggest using cPanels built in utility to setup your cron jobs, it'll use the right path system path to PHP and will also help with the correct syntax. If you're still getting this error and you're using cPanel you may want to submit a ticket over this, as it could be a bug. We'd have to check out your specific account though to verify
  5. I'd be very interested to take a look at this, as almost all abuse issues, at least on our side, are resolved within hours of you getting back to us. If there is any extended delay it is usually due to repeat issues or you not doing as we've instructed (cleaning the account, fixing the actual abuse issue, etc).
  6. This sounds like something we'd need to look at in a support ticket as I'm really not sure what you're referring to or what account yours is -- please submit a ticket at https://support.hawkhost.com if you haven't already with more details about this issue, how we can replicate it, etc.
  7. It sounds like this is most likely related to an abuse issue with your account, so you will need to reply to the support ticket we've opened on your account regarding this issue. Abuse is not a department we can handle over this forum. We will be able to work with you to get your account back online though. We can also provide a backup of all of your files if you would like, you just need to request it in your support ticket
  8. We do not offer registration for .ZA domains so we wouldn't be able to help you there
  9. Can you please provide me your ticket ID from this issue? If the issue is unresolved for you I'd like to see why.
  10. I pulled up what I believe is your ticket history and it looks like we replied to your IP request, so if you still have an unanswered ticket or need help with something let me know. When you login to cPanel, on the left side there is a column of stats (disk space, bandwidth, login history, etc). If you click 'Expand Stats' it'll drop down with more info and in that dropdown is the IP address your site is hosted on. Thank you for signing up with us, and please don't hesitate to contact us if anything else comes up!
  11. What do you believe the issue is, and what exactly do you mean by server root? If you can provide some more detail or even a ticket ID referencing the problem I'm more than happy to investigate for you.
  12. Currently we don't have any listed promotions valid for renewals, though if when you signed up initially you didn't use a coupon we may be able to provide you a discount. There are always exceptions to this as well for extenuating circumstances so feel free to PM me your accounts primary domain name and I'll see what we can do. The problem is people will sign up using 40-50% one time discounts and then expect an equal (or similar) discount on their renewal. This unfortunately just isn't something we could afford to do so we need to draw the line somewhere on the number and percentage of discounts we provide customers.
  13. This isn't really a market we can (or look) to compete in. Our upstreams are very strict about IPv4 justification for IPs and as SEO is not valid justification we're unable to issue them for that purpose.
  14. This is correct, you would actually need to login to the helpdesk again even though you were logged into the client area and clicked through. A bit of an annoying 'bug' but the login sharing system we're using between the helpdesk and client area is far from perfect (though better than our previous implementations). This is one area we're stressing to improve though a lot of it relies on WHMCS/Kayako so it is out of our hands. And Guy, thanks for helping out here with the speedy replies
  15. This would really depend on the software / resources you needed to do this. Offhand I'm not sure if a shared hosting account would work (based solely off a server software perspective) though a VPS may be a workable solution for you. If you can let us know more about the software/desired setup we can give a more concrete answer
  16. Zend should be installed and you should be able to access it already on your account. If you're still having issues with this and you haven't already please contact our support team, we'll need to be able to access your account/software and see what server you're on to make sure this is all working as it should be.
  17. I suspect your order has been setup at this point and your "New Account Information" email was sent. If you don't have that email please contact our sales department, or send me a PM, and we'll make sure that gets to you!
  18. Your ticket has been attended to at this point so please check our reply. Please read what I said above. You're simply exhausting your account resources, mostly with PHP processes. If you haven't already you should consider installing a caching plugin for Wordpress, two common ones are W3 Total Cache and WP Super Cache. You can find installation instructions and plenty of documentation around the web to help you configure them properly.
  19. What Fowler said is correct so I've got nothing to add there. What you need to do though is submit a ticket at https://support.hawkhost.com for this. We'll be able to help with your issues and restore your content but it isn't something we can do over a public forum.

    Blog post ideas?

As promised: http://blog.hawkhost.com/2012/08/30/a-hawk-host-summer-of-fun/ To everyone else, solid suggestions all around. It seems you all want a better idea of some common issues we see and more about our "company". I can make that happen
  21. We have monitoring setup for each partition on every system with thresholds set when the amount of drive space remaining is at a warning level and critical level. Should a partition fill up for whatever reason (this happens very, very rarely) we also have safeguards in place to clear up space on the partition to ensure the system continues to function. One other thing to note is that percentages could be misleading depending on the size of the partitions. You could have a warning saying only 80% left but there could be 10GB free on that partition which may be 5x more space than that particular partition should ever need.
  22. I've reviewed your ticket history and it doesn't look like our techs told you it wasn't our problem, only that we weren't able to replicate the issues you were seeing. I've also checked your bandwidth usage and you've used less than 10% of your months allocation so we're certainly not capping your bandwidth. After some further investigation your site is using nearly 100% CPU throughout the entire day, and never dropping below 66%. You almost always have 2-4 PHP processes running with spikes going up to 7 (our PHP proc limit) which would most certainly cause an apparent slow down in your site or your ability to load pages. Without getting into much more detail (this being a public forum I don't want to reveal much more) there are likely ways to reduce your usage with caching plugins for the software you're using though you'd need to contact our support team at that point so we can help with the specific aspects of your account.
  23. Domain orders can be placed right through our site at https://my.hawkhost.com/domainchecker.php
  24. The system is back online after a successful replacement of the RAID card and FSCK being run on the system partitions. We will continue to monitor the server for any potential issues and this thread will be updated if anything else comes up.
  25. At this time the RAID card has been replaced and we'll be starting the FSCK process shortly.
