The Tornado server has gone down for emergency maintenance due to file system inconsistencies. We'll be running a FSCK and will post updates on its progress via this thread.

It really depends on the scripting language you're using (PHP, Ruby, etc) however any of the date functions they offer should suffice. For PHP you could use the date() and time() functions.

IPv6 will indeed resolve this issue. The problem is adoption in the general market is slow moving (schools, governments, normal end-users). In the next few years we'll be seeing a shift form IPv4 to IPv6 as a standard however it's still a slow moving process. Until then we'll need to operate around the existing IPv4 environment which unfortunately is an abysmal mess.

It simply does not fit our business model at this time. Perhaps in the future however .

We had a chance to become ICANN accredited however we opted out of it at the time as our primary business was around hosting (and still is). We currently are a client of NetEarthOne who are ICANN accredited and have been in the business for numerous years. Registering a domain through us essentially is the same as registering through NetEarthOne (currently, this can change in the future). Regardless you're absolutley right. We've had internal discussions about moving registrars. Ultimately it boiled down to "don't fix what's not broken". The irony is not lost on us.

The FSCK is at 45% complete complete at this time.

There is a good chance we advised our support staff to not reply to any tickets to prepare for our migration (as mentioned above). We're now fully online and will be catching up on any tickets that came in during the maintenance window. If you can PM me your ticket ID so I can make sure everything is handled quickly .

This has been completed. Please contact us if you notice any issues .

This is trucking along nicely. We're verifying the integrity of the import / migration. We anticipate being online within the next 30~45 minutes. Thank you for your ongoing patience.

Due to file system inconsistencies we've been forced to take down the SJC003 machine for an emergency file system check. We'll post updated in this thread as it progresses.

It looks like this has been attended to . For future reference Frog Host and Hawk Host are owned by the same corporate entity however in regards to support they're ran differently.
-
I believe this has already been handled. It may be worth noting we do not offer Windows based services. If you require a call back you can ask via a ticket however phone support is not available on weekends.

It was a freelance artist although I'm not sure if he's still actively doing work. I'll be closing this as per your request .

I'm not sure what to tell you without a ticket sir. It's abundantly clear that there haven't been any ongoing issues with the server you're on as noted by our internal monitoring and third party monitoring (posted above). Also as noted previously we do 1-minute interval checks on an HTTP page to ensure the web server is functioning as well as ICMP to ensure the machine and network is online. Beyond this we do monitor other metrics (server resources) however there have been no issues on that front either. Taking a peak at your domain you're using CloudFlare which has had some serious issues lately (primarily Europe / Asia). Your outages likely stem from this. Please evaluate your current setup before pointing fingers. We have not had the outages you think we do. https://www.cloudfla...m/system-status https://twitter.com/#!/CloudFlare/status/198123182841016320 You can't assume we're having downtime / issues when you're not using our name servers as that's outside of our network and will cause outages which are out of our control.

Tickets regarding this should be escalated / do not get ignored. Can you provide us with a ticket ID?
-
I've actually found the server you're on. This clearly shows there is an issue specific to your website and not the server. Feel free to submit a ticket so we can help you diagnose the issues you're seeing . http://share.pingdom...anners/03450c50 It may be worth noting there was planned hardware maintenance on your server on 3/22. ** It may be worth noting we monitor all of our web servers via a third party (Pingdom) and internally in 1-minute intervals for both ICMP and HTTP checks.
-
Hello, This can be caused due to resource restrictions on your website alone and has no bearing on the server uptime. If you can provide us with a ticket and or which server you're on we can provide you with legitimate server uptime stats. I can confidently say none of our servers have any downtime that resembles that. Without any context of this post it's all but meaningless.

As you can see it came back online quickly after maintenance - sorry we didn't notice this post. I'm going to adjust your topic to clarify you were referring to the server under maintenance .
