  1. Just to elaborate on this; we didn't advertise this as a selling point / to "bait and switch". We just recently migrated everything to LiteSpeed (see here). Beyond that we plan on launching a new site soon (see here) so updates on the main page have been slowed to a crawl. This is not an excuse for our mistake, but I just want to clarify it was an honest one and not some sleazy sales tactic to entice users. As for cPanel reporting Apache still I'll look into it; LiteSpeed handles most of Apache's features without a hitch so nothing changed on that end. -Cody
  2. Well he is my boss afterall
  3. Pretty soon - expect to see a fully done site in the next month or so. We're very excited to get this rolling, it will be more informative and offer quite a bit more dynamic content regarding things such as our blog, forums, specials, and general operations.
  4. Thanks for pointing this out - I gave Tony 20 lashings for his foolish mistake *cough mod_rewrite cough*.
  5. FlashFXP is decent if you plan on using it for.. well FXP. That being said a lot of hosts / providers disable the option to allow this functionality - ultimately crippling the usefulness.
  6. Alright this has been confirmed to be fixed. The issue was simply the data center accidentally screwing up when moving one of our servers to a different VLAN , effectively knocking our Dallas machines offline. Estimated downtime was only a few minutes. We're sorry if this has caused any issues.
  7. It appears the issue has been resolved, we'll confirm this in just a moment. More information forthcoming.
  8. We're currently experiencing routing issues to all of our Dallas servers. We're working with SoftLayer to resolve the issue ASAP. We'll be posting updates in this thread.
  9. If the maintainers of OpenVZ don't release a official template for Lenny we'll go ahead and make one so you can rebuild your VPS with it. We'll give it about a week if that's okay
  10. Unfortunately I mistyped it after reading through this thread. You may be thinking of Lighty (Light HTTPD).
  11. We plan on making our own benchmarks by simply monitoring / logging the current usage / requests and such with one of our server, then simply switching it to Lightspeed and watching it for the same period. Hopefully there will either be a clear winner, and if there are any things that affect our users we'll be able to find out. Though by our research it looks to be quite promising, and will benefit all of our clients .

It looks like Tony set it up behind my back! It does look much better, props to you Daxx (and thanks)! -Cody
  13. Once you add the subdomain (we'll use "subby" as an example, so "subby.example.com") it will create a folder named "subby" within your main websites "public_html" folder. Now the "public_html" folder is where all of the files for your website gets placed (html, php, etc) - login using the FTP information you received upon signing up and you'll see the folder (alternatively you can use the "www" folder, which ultimately is just a shortcut to "public_html"). Now the stuff you want displayed for your subdomain simply put it in the newly created directory. **WARNING** I realize this was a very confusing and poor explanation, if you would like further help don't hesitate to submit a ticket and we'll assist you further.
  14. Thanks for the reminder - I totally forgot (in the middle of moving from California to New York)! I've gone ahead and added the suggestions forum.

I'll contact Daxx to see if he minds, albeit a small change - it does make a difference.
  16. This issue has been resolved - just to reiterate what Tony said; this did not affect any websites, only the private network.

    favicon.ico

Ha, it never occurred to me to even bother with a favicon - it's such a small thing in the grand scheme of it all. We'll make sure to add a favicon to the new website (which will launch in early 2009). Either way thanks for the post, I'm sure some other customers will find it useful / informative .
  18. Some hosts do this if they're worried that people will overuse the function and cause high loads on the server - that being said they SHOULD be able to provide you with a full backup without any qualms. I hope you enjoy your stay with us !
  19. Good idea, I'll add a suggestion forum later this afternoon. As Tony mentioned regarding the current layout - we're planning on a revamp, so its really not practical to adjust too many things right now.
  20. Ah, Tony is correct - if he wants to utilize PHPMyAdmin you'll need to upload it separately. On a side note: yes technically you would need to know the developers IP, but you could also use a wildcard (%) to allow anyone to connect remotely (generally not a good practice).
  21. Aw, so much love! Thanks for all of the kind words - we do appreciate them. Its nice to hear from our customers (especially if they're saying nice things ). On a side note: if anyone has any recommendations PLEASE send them our way - we're always looking to improve upon HawkHost .
  22. Within cPanel there's an option "Remote MySQL" where you can allow remote hosts access to the MySQL server. Hope that helps
  23. Thanks for posting this as I'm sure numerous people will find it helpful. The reason behind the library error is simply because your account is in a jailed shell (chroot) - so it can't find the system libraries.
  24. I hope its great too! Please don't hesitate to contact us if something isn't to your liking or you have any concerns. If you enjoy your service after a few months feel free to submit a testimonial to us and we'll feature it on the homepage
  25. And its open source! I also use FileZilla personally - it's a very well rounded FTP client that's cross-platform and offers a nice little feature set (sFTP being one of my favorites).
