asdfgt28k reacted to ironfist in Unable to login to support system on multiple accounts.
I've tried logging in to 2 seperate accounts of two people working on support issues for our sites, and neither are working now. I've done a password reset on both as well, and still can't login with the new password entered.

Can anyone help me out with this?

asdfgt28k reacted to President-Anonymous in hot link protection via htaccess (X, Y, and all, but with safe list)
I've hit a wall....

The Goal

Block site X and show them image X
Blocked site Y and show them image Y
Block everyone else and show them image Z

Have a safe list / white list, so that I can still hot link here on XenForo and a few other select sites.

What Jake came up with (but doesn't seem to work)

# NO HOTLINK FOR SITE X
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^http://(www\.)?sitex\.com [NC]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !nohotlinkingx\.jpg$ [NC]
RewriteRule \.(jpg|gif|jpeg|png|bmp|pdf|zip|txt|svg)$ http://www.yoursite.com/nohotlinkingx.jpg? [NC,L]

RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^http://(www\.)?sitex\.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^attachments/.+$ http://www.yoursite.com/nohotlinkingx.jpg? [NC,L]

# NO HOTLINK FOR SITE Y
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^http://(www\.)?sitey\.com [NC]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !nohotlinkingy\.jpg$ [NC]
RewriteRule \.(jpg|gif|jpeg|png|bmp|pdf|zip|txt|svg)$ http://www.yoursite.com/nohotlinkingy.jpg? [NC,L]

RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} ^http://(www\.)?sitey\.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^attachments/.+$ http://www.yoursite.com/nohotlinkingy.jpg? [NC,L]

# NO HOTLINK FOR ALL SITES
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www\.)?yoursite\.com [NC]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www\.)?allowedsite\.com [NC]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !nohotlinking\.jpg$ [NC]
RewriteRule \.(jpg|gif|jpeg|png|bmp|pdf|zip|txt|svg)$ http://www.yoursite.com/nohotlinking.jpg? [NC,L]

RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www\.)?yoursite\.com [NC]
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www\.)?allowedsite\.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^attachments/.+$ http://www.yoursite.com/nohotlinking.jpg? [NC,L]
I know someone here must have done this before.

Can anyone here tell me what is wrong with this code?

(If you don't have the answer... Please like this post knowing that I wasn't someone who opened up a wasteful support ticket. I imagine that happens a lot.)

We'll be performing a kernel upgrade on on Thursday April 12th between 10PM-1AM CDT. While we use KSplice to keep our kernels up-to-date for critical bugs and security fixes it doesn't pull in new features from the upstream kernel. As a result we perform semi-annual kernel updates to keep everything up-to-date and in-line with upstream.

On Thursday July 29th between 9:00am and 12:00pm CDT we will be upgrading the Mars server's PHP to the latest version. We do not expect any down time during the maintenance window. We will be upgrading the system PHP to the latest version first then the web servers so for a short time there may be different versions handling command line cron jobs. The reason for this upgrade is to get the latest version of PHP with all the latest fixes. Along with PHP we will also be upgrading the LSAPI version which will bring some performance benefits on the web server side.

If you have any questions about this maintenance window do not hesitate to contact support.

Date: 07/29/2010
Start time (CDT): 9:00am
End time (CDT): 12:00pm
Estimated Down Time: None

On Wednesday July 11th starting at 2PM CDT we will be taking the Mars server down to run a file system check due to some reported errors after reviewing system logs. We estimate the actual file system check will take less than an hour, however we've left the window open for 3 hours in the event we run into unexpected issues.

Date: 07/11/2012
Start time (CDT): 2:00PM
End time (CDT): 5:00PM
Duration: 3 hours
Estimated Down Time: 60 minutes or less

Throughout this window our support team will be available for any questions. They can be contacted via ticket at https://support.hawkhost.com.

Anyone who doesn't follow/read our blog may have missed this, so I wanted to open a thread here.

For a breakdown of the plans we offer, the differences between them, and who should use what, this is a good place to start: http://blog.hawkhost.com/2013/05/08/back-to-the-basics-shared-reseller-semi-dedicated-and-vps-hosting/

The idea was to give new users or people setting up a site for the first time an idea of what the differences are between plans. Feedback is welcome

Hey HawkHost, how do you guys like Invision Power Board?

I was thinking about moving off vBulletin and check out Invision power Board, the product seems a lot more compelling than XenForo.

I figured I'd mention most likely tomorrow and if not tomorrow on the weekend we'll be switching from vbulletin to invision power board. We've just had our fill of the bots overrunning our forums and just vbulletin in general being a major annoyance.

So expect a new look soon and probably a whole lot less annoying bots showing up on our forums. Which I guess means more people are going to need to post to make up for the bots

asdfgt28k reacted to tekiegreg in Today's Rant: #$@$%&^*( GoDaddy...
So I've had a Domain name hosted at Hawkhost, codesweep.com for some time now. Though the registrar was Namesecure.com. I decide that for Registrar GoDaddy was cheaper and codesweep.com was up for renewal soon, so let's transfer over there. No problem, I gather up all the pertinent info and am told in a few days Namesecure will release to GoDaddy.

So I just get home from a late night at the office, and check my email, nothing is working....hmmm...is it HawkHost, My Internet Provider (Comcast), or something else...this was answered really quickly when I tried visiting www.codesweep.com and got the GoDaddy parking page instead of my Blog...WTF?? I'm POSITIVE I told GoDaddy to keep my nameservers at Hawkhost the same...how long was my email down? How many people were bouncing back? Hopefully not too many...well a quick swap of the nameservers will slowly fix that but still....

Anyways not much Hawkhost could have done about that, but had to get it off my chest....outta curiousity whom else do people use for registrars around here?
