Hello!Chinese users to access the U.S. site is very slow, even worse site visit to Singapore. So I suggest you set up a data center in Japan or Hong Kong. This will allow the Asian, especially Chinese users to quickly access.Your company is very famous in China. If you can not build data centers in Japan or Hong Kong, I suggest you set up a data center in California, Chinese users to access the California's website is the fastest in US.

TrikeCartirty reacted to egemenk in 20 hours and account still not activated
I've purchased a shared hosting account 20 hours ago. After waiting a couple hours I've submitted a ticket. Apart from an automated message, there was no response for 16 hours. I caught billing support online and asked for the status of my account activation. I was told to reply to the ticket with some additional info which I did immediately. 2 hours passed with no response. I asked again for the status and I was told that they were waiting for some manager to arrive? Again 2 hours have passed since; no response, live support is offline again (although it's in business hours) and I'm waiting in the dark.
Waiting for hours desperately for a simple operation, very very disappointing.

TrikeCartirty reacted to Tony in Memory Upgrade [05/25/2012]
On Friday May 25th between 1:00am and 4:00am SGT (GMT+8) we will be adding additional memory to the sng001 server to bring it to an optimal memory configuration. Adding the additional memory will require the machine to be turned off so there will be between 30 and 45 minutes of down time. The memory although designed just to fix the configuration for CPU performance it will also go from 24GB to 32GB which should provide a boost in performance.

If you have any questions regarding this maintenance notice please do not hesitate to contact our systems administration department.

    Date: 05/25/2012
    Start time SGT (GMT+8): 1:00am
    End time SGT (GMT+8): 4:00am
    Duration: 3 hours
    Estimated Down Time: 30 minutes

TrikeCartirty reacted to shnyc in Like it here a lot... but confused
I don't know if all questions I have can or were already answered... was looking all over the place - a lot of places to look in you have here - didn't find answers to most of them. So, here we go...
But firstly, the first impression from the shared hosting service - great! Even though "limits" kind of creep me out as always before I used those "unlimited" hostings, although my site(s) doesn't really consume a lot. Anyways - HawkHost seems to be a place to be. We'll see how it goes on...
I bought a shared hosting plan. Registered it with a domain I have with GoDaddy. Would probably want to transfer it here, as well as the second one I have, but for now decided to try and watch how it will go without transfer; plus, maybe you'll have a nice special for transfers - I have time. About the transfer: while reading FAQ, I saw it would cost $9.95; tried to do it through registration in Client Area - it came to $10.95
So, now the questions, I guess.
I bought hosting here, and my domain used to register for it with HH - in ClientArea, in "My Domains" I don't see it. Nameservers are those of HH, so I'd guess I shall have some info on it. At least on my previous host - don't throw rocks, I know iPower IS crap - still, I saw information on all 3 of my domains there even though only 1 was registered through them and other two simply had their nameservers written in(on?), just like I have it here now.
The reason I pay so much attention to it is that I actually used my secondary domain to register hosting service with HH. The idea was to try-on and to set up a replacement/backup sort of site. Later, if everything goes well, I'd bring in another, primary, domain and have it, as I learned here, switched to be my main registration domain while secondary would point to some other folder... But, right now I have only one domain here and I don't seem to find any way to point it to a directory other than document root - and I was searching. How can I do it, if I can at all?
Another thing - I got swamped in logins here: one for client area, second for control panel, another one for support and finally the fourth one for this forum - ain't it couple too many logins for one site? No, maybe there are perfectly good reasons for having them all separated this way, I wouldn't argue as I am not a web security pro, but maybe I'll get to learn reasons for it, in plain terms if possible, please
Well, I guess that covers prety much everything for now. Later I will have more, I know and appreciate your patient replies in advance
Oh, and if this posting mis-categorized - I didn't want to post in pre-sale questions area as it is actually a post-sale - please do transfer it to proper category/forum. Thanks

TrikeCartirty reacted to jrosenf in Forwarding mail option to not keep copy of message
I have a number of email accounts set up that I use as forwarding accounts. For example, mail sent to [email protected] automatically forwards to [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected].

With my previous hosting company, there was a box "Keep a copy of the forwarded messages" that I would uncheck since I don't actively use [email protected], I just use it as a way for people to email me, my wife and my kid via one email address address.

I contacted support but to the rep's knowledge there wasn't a way to set up the forwarding email accounts to not keep copies of the messages sent to them.

Was he correct? If so, I would really appreciate it if you would add this feature. Thanks!

I am currently a customer of HawkHost under a reseller plan, however, I am considering upgrading to a VPS. I'm not really that sure why other than I would like to try it.

    Could I:

Use the current domain I use as the main account for my reseller on the VPS whilst keeping my reseller accounts online whilst I get used to it.

Also, can I create more than one account on VPS. Will I still have WHM or something to create accounts with.

I'm looking to install redMine on Hawkhost. I used this guide before: http://forums.hawkhost.com/topic/500-newbie-question-re-installing-redmine-a-ruby-application/

But that concerns a really old version and the info may have changed. Anyone know how to set up the most latest redMine version that's allowed on Hawkhost ?

This is quite a high priority for me.
