  1. There are converters that make it easy to go from one software to another so everything will be kept. It might just be possible that users will have to reset their passwords to login for the first time. That happens sometimes in conversions depending on how the password is stored and what software you are moving from/to. It is a good choice to upgrade to IPB. vb is going down hill and vb 4 is absolutely terrible with their price hikes and the way they treat customers is terrible. Can't wait to see the forum using IPB.
  2. All of them do. For example your avatar especially looks evil as it is look down slightly and it eyes are a bit small and looks like he is an evil villian waiting for you to turn away. It is the same for all of them including the one on the homepage but it does look better as the mascot has his thumbs up as it makes him look a bit friendlier and welcoming. I hadn't noticed it before now so it is nothing major but just looking at all those images just made me notice it as i never really paid much attention to the mascot previously. He just doesn't look as welcoming as maybe he should (and could be) but I think i am just looking into it a bit too deeply

That is what makes me think they are bots. A human wouldn't waste all their time doing that and putting up a bio, avatar & ICQ number. Especially if they are not going to post like alot here. I have managed to get spam down to about 1 or 2 a day now (if that) which is manageable. I blame the people who create software (like XRumer) who claim that they hate spam yet create a software which people use for that reason.
  4. I have just realised how evil and miserable the "hawk" looks. If you look at the face of it, it just looks a bit evil. It doesn't look happy or cheerful.

ReCaptcha is not as effective as it was i found. A more custom CAPTCHA or visual confirmation method will stop alot. Alot of the members look to be bots from their activities.
  6. My brain hurts I would say you have succeeded as if your aim was to fail and you succeed then now you would have failed which is your aim and therefore succeeded in your aim.... I think
  7. I am no good at coming up with things like these but the best i can come up with is "High Flying Hosting". High Flying means good and something that is doing well and it also relates to a hawk. I did warn you i am not good at these things
  8. I like the fact that i don't need to worry about abnormal downtime or issues. It is always fast and we have a pnly have had a very small amount of issues (no hosts has no issues).

Nice, IPB is alot better then VB (especially vb 4) in my opinion. I find the way vb treat their customers is a disgrace aswell especially with the vb 4 release.

Congratulations (i suppose) Have you tried a modification/add-on that integrates stopforumspam.com into the registration system? If you disable the username checks then the number of false positives is really low (if any).
  11. What made you start your blog/site/forum?
  12. I can't remember how i found out about HawkHost. I can just remember needing to find a new host fast and searching through loads and loads of hosts.
  13. Hi Horde isn't working for me either but try using SquirrelMail or RoundCube instead of Horde. Both of those 2 work for me.
  14. Problems like this can be annoying and it has happened quite often but i have been with many hosts before HawkHost and with those hosts we had more problems then here. Atleast when something happens here they are usually put right quickly. Problems happen but i think it is more how they are dealt with and the speed they are dealt with.
  15. Quick reply works for me. You just have to activate it by clicking the image next to a post.
  16. A couple of days ago cPanel was updated to the latest version on all the servers - http://forums.hawkhost.com/showthread.php?goto=newpost&t=892 That is what might have caused your problems.

    Vote for us!

I have voted for you. Hostgator have made a massive jump in their number of votes in the last few days.
  18. I haven't had to use support much but when i have, i have had responses within 15 minutes on all occasions. The replies you get are also helpful and worthwhile in my opinion.
  19. I have never been unfortunate enough to be hosted by Godaddy... I have been with my fair share of bad hosts. Cirtex and Lunarpages were the worst and i could write a book on why each of them are run by a group of goldfish with no braincells between them. Moving hosts is a pain in the backside but thankfully i have finally found a good host here and with the brilliant speed and uptime, who can complain? When i have needed support it has always been fast here and actually helpful which compared to the previous hosts i mentioned it is a world of difference. I have been with HH for about 3 or 4 months now and i think the worst thing to happen here all during that time was a problem with AWstats. That is a good sign in my opinion. Godaddy are only good at 1 thing... Domains. They should stick to what they are good at and leave hosting to people who have a clue what they are doing... Like Tony
  20. Your account wasn't deleted... It was only suspended. All hosts suspend accounts when they are causing server issues and most hosts don't even try to warn you before hand like HawkHost tried to. Some i have been with suspend you and it takes about 2 days to even get a reason as to why.
  21. I think the second one is better... The first is a bit unclear when it is in your browser.
