  1. You're best to make a support ticket but my best guess is you're uploading the files to the wrong folder via Dreamweaver.
  2. 80% completed so it'll be completed in the next 24 hours (I know said that already). We just rather have it done right then have mistakes so we take our time with these sorts of migrations.
  3. If you wish to transfer your domain registration to us it's $9.95/yr and private whois is a free option. We call it ID protection in our system. Also you do not have to move your domain registration to us. You can also just change the name servers of your domain to ours to have the domain point to our hosting.
  4. It is not accessible. We just provide the PHP scripts as an include.
  5. 50% completed should be completed in the next 24 hours.
  6. I am pretty sure you clicked the button that disables it. Here's what the popup says: "If encodings are not important to you because you will only be working with english or other western languages you can disable this dialog by clicking here: " That disables that popup when clicking the edit button. You can also get around that popup by right clicking on the file and clicking edit in the menu it brings up.
  7. We've changed nothing so the change is purely from something you did or something cPanel picks up on it's own. I think there was an option somewhere asking about not bringing that popup to screen every time I just forget where.

You can block the IP using .htaccess I believe this will do the job for you: order allow, deny deny from 194.8.75.44 allow from all [/CODE] A lot of these bots are automated they find sites and they'll come back every single day. There is no point in redirecting them to another site.
  9. We have a bunch of customers running rails applications. I assume you set it up via cPanel? If so best to make a ticket so we can take a look.
  10. The drive has finished rebuilding everything is optimal once again.
  11. The drive has been replaced and we'll update this topic once the rebuild has completed.
  12. The drive is going to be replaced in the next five minutes.
  13. One of the drives on the Jedi server is reporting bad blocks and medium errors which suggests the drive is going bad. We are going to be replacing the drive in the next few hours most likely then start a rebuild. There will be no down time associated with replacing the drive unless something unforeseen happens. Date: 09/06/2009 Start time (EDT): ASAP End time (EDT): ? Duration: ? Estimated Down Time: None
  14. The new server is configured and ready to go. If you're interested in moving early feel free to make a ticket. Please keep in mind shared hosting accounts not on a dedicated IP cannot be moved early. Any other type of account or one with their own IP can be moved early.
  15. Unfortunately we discovered the VLAN our dallas web servers are on does not support a management NIC which our Xeon 55xx systems require. So for this upgrade we're going to use a Dual Xeon 5450 (3Ghz) which in benchmarks matches up almost identical to a 5520. Plus with web servers the big limiter is memory and hard drives and not CPU and that is where the big upgrade is anyways. So here is what the specifications look like on the new system: Dual Xeon 5450 12GB RAM 4x300GB 15K RPM SAS Raid-10 So it is still a substantial upgrade over the previous system which was a: Xeon 5430 4GB RAM 4x250GB 7.2K RPM SATA Raid-10 It'll also of course be 64bit so no more headaches for us on our management end or anymore 32bit surprises.

    Outage [09/03/2009]

During routine maintenance of electrical switchgear in the SEA01 facility, a faulty logic board caused a static switch to disengage. This resulted in a disruption of power to downstream critical IT load. On-site vendor maintenance professionals quickly isolated the logic board as the root cause of the disruption and initiated procedures to replace the component and revert power back to affected customer equipment. SoftLayer Engineers were alerted in tandem to the disruption and began the process of bringing impacted servers back online once power was restored. Maintenance has been completed, and while no further impact is expected, NOC personnel will be closely monitoring the electrical infrastructure for the next 24 hours. SoftLayer appreciates your patience and apologizes for any inconvenience this has caused.
  17. As a result of the outage last night this work has been completed.
  18. Due to the datacenter event last night this work has already been completed.
  19. Filezilla allows you to edit files on the server and upload them again if my memory serves me right. You click edit on it and then it downloads it and opens it based on the preferred application for that extension in it's settings. So you could instantly see the changes still then without much hassle.

    Outage [09/03/2009]

We're online again the second portion was not a power issue but from first glance a network issue of some kind. We're still waiting confirmation on this though.
  21. The best solution here is to just get away from that text editor in cPanel. You're better off using your preferred editor on your computer then uploading the files using a program like filezilla.

Well everything is off line again related to the power issues. We have no ETA as of yet as to when things will be back online or what exactly caused the power issue.
