    venus issues

The automated monitoring systems got turned off by mistake so our monitoring team needed to step in and fix the services with issues. Of course it was fixed and the monitoring systems turned back on. Also according to my record of the monitoring it was down 10-20 minutes.
  2. This work has been completed.
  3. It does not matter what the order for the name servers are.
  4. Something we almost missed is our web site will also be down during this maintenance window as it resides on the same router.
  5. Already talked to you via live chat, but just for anyone else: Our system currently does not ask for the code upon sign up so you'll need to email us the code.
  6. This has been completed.
  7. Starting this now
  8. This has been completed.
  9. Solved the problem we're rebuilding Apache now.
  10. We're currently unable to rebuild apache so we're going to reschedule this for another time.

  14. This issue has been resolved. Now to explain fully what was going on here: For several hours now the var partition was throwing errors at random causing apache to throws errors at random as well as some other services. So for one user they may have seen a 500 error while the next user visited a page fine. We decided we could not resolve this issue easily. At which point we gave it a few pokes and it went into complete read-only mode resulting in all services to cease to act. At which point we knew we needed to run a fsck (essentially like windows scandisk and tries to fix errors) on it. Unfortunately the server would not let us unmount /var. At this point we attempted to remote reboot the server from our IPMI device on it. This unfortunately did not work as it had failed meaning we could not solve this problem remotely. At this point an on site technician was sent to resolve the issue. They've resolved the issue with the IPMI as well as rebooted the server and it appears to be functioning fine once again. /var seems to be functioning properly once again and at this point we believe this will not be an ongoing issue. However we'll be monitoring the server for the next 24 hours to make sure everything is fine.
  15. The Skyline server has been taken down due to issues of websites not loading correctly or not loading at all due to problems with one of the servers file systems. Just a minute ago the file system went into read-only completely and refused to stop. The services still using the file system were critical services of the operating system which lead us no choice but to reboot the system. Unfortunately there also appears to be a problem with our remote management device on the server resulting in us being unable to control it's console remotely. Due to this we have a technician on site attempting to resolve the problem with the hardware as well as get the server to boot up. At this point in time we have no ETA on resolution to this problem.
  16. Appreciate the kind words. What really helps us out is if you came from a forum especially one about hosting to just post a review on there of your experience thus far.
  17. You almost got me on this one I was about to delete this topic and ban you until I started reading the topic. Funny stuff Anyways.... The higher packages don't grant you a faster speed you'd still be on the same server if you had 3GB space or 24GB space. The only difference is with larger accounts we are more lenient with regards to cpu and memory usage you're using on the server since you're obviously paying more. This of course along with more space and bandwidth with the higher accounts.
  18. You're the kind of customer like As long as the servers are up and running and are fast we never hear from you. Actually come to think of it that's what the majority of our customers do now. Which is reflective in our not so active discussion forum.
  19. All our reseller accounts come with WHM which you can login via https://yourdomain.com:2087/ or using the IP given in the welcome email. It can also be accessed via the link through cPanel. We can also migrate data from another host assuming you're running cPanel at the previous host as well. You can contact support to inquire about going that route.
  20. Just an update I did end up making the forum and it's a sub section of the PHP forum. You can get to it by http://www.hawkhost.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=15 I'm sure even if it's not used a lot it'll be great for our search engine rankings. We're already pretty high with all Zend Framework searches anyways but it never hurts to add more keywords. As a result of this we also have a lot of customers making use of Zend Framework So just a matter of everyone participating in the forum.
  21. Welcome to the Zend Framework section which is dedicated to Zend Framework in general or even getting Zend Framework working on Hawk Host servers. All our internal applications make use of Zend Framework so we are very versed in it and probably could help with solving of problems here for logic and things like that and configuration issues in support tickets.
  22. Zend Framework forum is a good idea I doubt many would use it but I'll add a section. We actually use ZF ourselves for internal applications so I know the framework quite well myself. As for the affiliate program it's not actually active I don't think it'll let you do anything. The billing system we pay for right now puts the option in even when it is not enabled and it's not worth the trouble modifying the templates every single time they update the software.
  23. This maintenance work has been completed.
  24. Always a good idea to do this via ticket which I believe you have and it was resolved
  25. On Monday March 3rd starting at 2:00AM EST our datacenter will be performing core network maintenance. There will be no down time associated with this maintenance however there may be less than optimal routes during this time. The maintenance window till last until 6:00AM EST. Here is the maintenance notice we were sent: Datacenter Engineers will be performing maintenance on the core network equipment Monday March 3rd starting at 2:00am EST. During this time, engineers will be installing new Cisco best of breed 7606-S chassis with RSP720-3CXL-GE supervisor engines as Customer Edge Routers (CER), integrating a fully meshed multi-10Gbps distribution core utilizing existing Cisco 6509 chassis with new VS-S720-10G-3CXL supervisor engines (DAR), and upgrading our current infrastructure to our Frontend Customer Routers (FCR). As these routers will replace the entire edge network currently in place, certain providers out of the Datacenter network will be unavailable at various points during this time. We do not expect any customer impact; however, customers may notice sub optimal routing while routes reconverge over a different path. Date: Monday March 3rd 2008 (3/3/2008) Start time (EST): 2:00am EST End time (EST): 6:00am EST Services Effected: Datacenter Core Network Duration: 4 hours
