  1. Saturn is currently off line due to problems in Dallas server room #2. Please refer to http://www.hawkhost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=418 for more information.
  2. Our Dallas datacenter's is currently experiencing problems in their server room #2 which houses our Pluto and Saturn servers. At this time we have no idea why they're out but we already have a technician investigating why our machines are off line.

    Yoda Issue [05/20/2009]

The drive has been replaced. It'll be rebuilding over the next few hours but nothing really to worry about. This is going to be closed now as there is nothing else to report besides when it's finished rebuilding.

    Yoda Issue [05/20/2009]

We're now replacing one of the drives on the machine as when it came back on it was reporting as dead. We're taking no chances and are having it replaced right now. There should be no down time associated with swapping the drive out as the server is hot swap.

    Yoda Issue [05/20/2009]

It's back online. The datacenter pulled our machine in the rack by mistake during a maintenance window for some other machines. We're investigating how this happened exactly so it does not happen in the future.
  6. The Yoda server is currently off line we have no idea at this time what exactly happened. We're currently having datacenter technicians investigate on site as we have no theories as to why the machine has gone off line completely including our IPMI management system.
  7. You cannot use promotion codes on current invoices or anything like that. If you were adding another account assuming the coupon was not for just new customers you could use it to order that new account. Our coupons we run are always reflective of our current sales goals and available space. We'd go broke if people could use whatever coupon on whatever invoice they have right now.
  8. Yep we give you the ability to modify MX records through cPanel.
  9. I did not notice that. I'd first see if you can protect a folder successfully then switch it to a file. It's more likely an issue with the specific file reference than the password protection portion but who knows it's tough to investigate without playing around with it live.
  10. It should work fine I recently remember reading a ticket about it and the person had no issue using it. You're best to make a ticket so we can take a look.
  11. This has been completed.
  12. On Monday May 11th datacenter engineers will be replacing the back end aggregate switch that the Titan server is connected to. This will start at 4am PDT and be completed by 5AM PDT. During this time there will be intermittent connectivity loss to our private network of about 15-20 minutes in total. During this window access to the backup restoration system will not be available due to it relying on the back end network. This will not affect any other service and the server will be up the entire time serving it's regular traffic as it does not rely on the private network to do this. Date: 05/11/2009 Start time (PDT): 04:00:00 End time (PDT): 05:00:00 Services affected: Back End / Private network Device: bas05.sr02.sea01 Duration: 1 hour
  13. This was completed forgot to close it.
  14. At approximately 6:55 AM EDT, Datacenter Engineers were alerted to connectivity issues within our WDC01 network. After our initial investigation, it was determined that FCR01.WDC01 had suffered a software crash and had to be reloaded. Once the router stabilized at 7:21 EDT, Datacenter Engineers determined that the best course of action was to upgrade the router to the latest IOS and perform another reload at 7:41 EDT. Connectivity was fully restored at 7:47am EDT and no other service interruption is expected. During the course of this event, customers would have seen intermitting connectivity and packet loss to servers connected behind FCR01.WDC01. Customers behind other FCR routers would not have been effected. At this time, all connectivity has been restored to the effected network segments.
  15. Are we talking about shared hosting or a VPS? With mailman there is no capability that's right and I do not believe you could make it restrict on shared hosting. Maybe a VPS is better as there are no mailing restrictions as all you cause problems for is yourself if you're using all the resources up.
  16. We support mailman and phplist they're both fine. You're correct about the 1000 emails per hour but assuming it's staggered it should not be an issue. Obviously we have a 0 tolerance policy towards spam so I would make sure that the users opted into the mailing.
  17. 1. Unfortunately just like any other host there is no science to this or public information. The specifications of machines are always going up so the numbers are always changing. There is no way we'd let someone use 25% of the servers resources for days that's for sure. It also varies server to server one machine we might say sure go ahead the next it might be wow that's out of control. 2. We try to work with you if there is a problem. Now if the problem is you using 8 CPU's all by yourself we'd have to disable the site for obvious reasons.
  18. 1. It's controlled via cPanel as for instances it be one per application I believe. For the number of applications we ask that it be within reason if you're running 50 obviously that's not within reason 2. No we do not require that 3. Yes that would be shared between them
  19. 1. Ruby is 1.8.7 2. The ruby portion runs Mongrel not LiteSpeed currently. 3. We do not but we load everything that you'd expect to see for a developer friendly environment. So PDO is the big one some do not load but we have it. 4. You'd be limited by your space as well but when you have a 4GB database depending on the data if it's millions of rows you're probably going to run into problems. With large databases you'd optimize the mysql server for that but obviously we cannot as there are varying databases. 5. A simple ticket 6. We cannot reveal the size but it's more than just Cody and I. Not everyone posts on the forum some have things like responding to support tickets.
  20. We run CentOS on all servers.
  21. Glad I could help
  22. Yep it would be the $2 charge not being high enough to go through the gateway. Just make a ticket to billing and we should be able to bill you for an entire year on the dedicated IP. The silly billing system does not adjust the term of the IP if the hosting term is different
  23. We only runs stats once per 24 hours as it's an intensive process to be running constantly.
  24. As far as I know you cannot do it via the filemanager although I don't know the cPanel filemanager inside out they keep updating it!
