  1. Just a bunch of screen shots who knows if it actually does what it says it does So we'll see we're maybe a week away from having our own panel ready which will have support for multiple servers and the majority of the functionality built into HyperVM. Rapid application development at it's finest

    New Site

You just may notice a different favicon on the site
  3. We do not give users the ability to scan their files as we've had a ton of abuse of this feature in the past. It uses a lot of CPU and when someone tries to scan an account with thousands of files it can really slow down a server. These hacks being described are very easy to see as they'll have replaced all files. We also have R1Soft to go and overwrite all those files and you can do that. So we see no reason to have this virus scanner system enabled.
  4. Charged fine and temperature is good so things are resolved.
  5. Battery still charging we won't close this until it's fully charged.
  6. The machine is back online once again and the new battery is charging. This should hopefully resolve this.
  7. The machine is going off line again to investigate why the battery is not functioning. It is required for data integrity purposes if there is ever a power failure.
  8. Scratch that the battery is not charging. We're going to need to take it off line again to most likely replace the battery or just the entire raid card.
  9. Backup battery on the raid card was replaced and an additional fan was added to the server in case it was an air flow issue.
  10. register_globals off it can be turned on if you want via .htaccess. mcrypt is installed.
  11. Thursday June 12th between 9am and 12pm CDT we will be performing emergency maintenance on the Marlin server to correct a temperature problem. As it stands the raid cards battery is running extremely hot to a point where it is necessary to replace it. We were unable to schedule this maintenance any earlier and it's necessary so we had no choice but to do it during this time. We estimate it'll take between 15 and 20 minutes to replace the battery and double check the airflow of the machine. During this time the machine will be off line. Date: 06/12/2009 Start time (CDT): 9:00am End time (CDT): 12:00pm Duration: 3 hours Estimated Down Time: 20 minutes
  12. Date: 06/16/2009 (Tuesday) Start time (PDT): 00:00:00 (midnight) End time (PDT): 01:00:00 (1:00AM) Services affected: Back End / Private network Device: BAS05.SR02.SEA01 Location: Seattle, WA Duration: 1 hour =================================================== SoftLayer Engineers will be replacing the upstream back end aggregate switch that provides connectivity to the rack level switch to which your server is connected. During this maintenance, customers will not have access to backend services (DNS resolution, update servers, NAS, iSCSI, VPN access, IMPI access, backup servers, backend communications, etc). While the maintenance window is set for 1 hour, we expect no longer than 20-30 minutes of downtime. =================================================== So during this time for us specifically Titan will not have the backup systems available to it meaning no restorations.
  13. 1) Registered corporation in Ontario Canada. Hawk Host Inc. 2) Paypal accepted and our Paypal is a verified business 3) PHP 5.2.9 MySQL 5.0.77 we run LiteSpeed 4.0.3 will be 4.0.4 soon. 4) Yes it is 5) Cannot reveal what we do. We obviously have firewalls in place blocking non essential ports and keeping our software up to date. We cannot reveal past that though for security reasons 6) Also something we cannot reveal but we have employees 20+ and enough to cover all hours of the day.
  14. Cannot make much money these days offering strictly domains. The money is made with add-on services or hosting it self. We sell domains at $9.95/yr granted we're not a ICANN accredited registrar but we make something like $2.50 per domain if we're lucky. We do resell so our price is a bit higher but say we're paying $7/yr while if you're accredited you pay $4.50 or something (both numbers made up). Even with millions of domains you're not making a whole lot of money. As for me having a clue I like to believe so
  15. As of June 7th we have have taken HyperVM off line on our systems as a precaution to several exploits that have been reported to not have been patched. We have strong reason to believe this information is correct due to several providers having entire fleets of virtual private servers or even their actual servers data removed. You should not be experiencing any down time HyperVM is just the panel to administrate virtual private servers. Our nodes themselves continue to function without issue. If you require any assistance with your virtual private server such as rebooting it you will need to make a ticket for us to do it at this time. We hope that the developers of HyperVM will solve these issues in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to have HyperVM off line until the issues are resolved. We will post updates as we receive them as well as an update when it is back up and functioning.
  16. In our client area ( https://www.hawkhost.com/clients/clientarea.php ) you can use the domains link then find the domain in question and change it's name servers. So you can change the name servers to whomever your provider is.
  17. Sounds like an awful situation. I hope everything continues to be great with us. Switching hosts is a headache that's for sure. You were at least able to migrate we have customers who's provider locks out all reasonable facilities to even move by disabling backup systems
  18. This has been completed.
  19. 1) It's basically what the name of the server is. So a valid host name is for example name.domain.com. So you'd probably want to do server.yourdomain.com replacing yourdomain.com with a domain that you own. 2) You could host as many as you'd like. You're going to be more restricted by system resources so memory and CPU.
  20. We cannot reveal how many customers we have the best you can do is use a tool to lookup the number of domains on our name servers. http://www.webhosting.info/webhosts/reports/total_domains/REALBORED.COM (lists us as realbored.com) or if you want a link to our whois with a link to that http://whois.webhosting.info/hawkhost.com . So according to that as of those moment 5200. This does not include resellers or virtual private servers either.
  21. SLA is not processed automatically as stated on the page a ticket is necessary along with some accompanying proof. So that could be something like the link to our outage report or your own outside monitoring. If it's your own outside monitoring then keep in mind we'll compare it against our own. The reason being ours is 1 minute intervals and someone telling us we were down for an hour when their monitoring interval is 1 hour is not fair to us if there was a 5 minute outage.
  22. We do not maintain public uptime reports and have no intentions of doing it any time in the future. We at one time had them and they were more trouble then they were worth. Receiving tickets for 1 minute blips by the monitoring or even having users complain about outages on another machine. All issues and maintenance windows are posted on the forums http://www.hawkhost.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=5 and we also have a list of all our active servers at http://www.hawkhost.com/Network/serverlist
  23. I like the vbulletin default theme Well actually I hate forums that integrate into the site if we just had something that had the same colors and such it be nice. As for usernames we're all equal here except we can post in the announcement forums I'll look into something like that though it's a good suggestion.
  24. This seems to be wrong: AuthDigestDomain http://mydomain.net/blog/wp-admin/ But you could just be removing your domain from the example. But just a bit above you still have your domain there so I'm a little lost. I suggest making a ticket so that we can take a look it should work fine.
