Gmaper Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 The Skyline server does not seem to be scheduled for a memory upgrade. Why not? Is there a web page that shows the configuration of each server? Quote

Tony Posted May 21, 2011 Report Posted May 21, 2011 Unfortunately no as our 5400 systems memory pricing does not make it cost effective for us to be adding additional memory to those systems. We have not been adding users to these machines for quite some time so the number of users they have might be half of what most machines have. Along with that we've been working on phasing all of them out as you'll notice the saturn system is no longer a 5400. Eventually the Skyline and Pluto servers will be migrated as well we're just doing this in phases as it takes a bit of time do as we split the machines in half as well to divide shared vs reseller. Thanks for the reply, Tony. I think the performance and availability of Skyline has been phenomenal so it is okay with me if you leave sleeping dogs lie. Quote
jessy_30 Posted May 27, 2011 Report Posted May 27, 2011 If there are no memory upgrade, what will be the remedy of those who in need for additional storage? Is there any servers or site storage device? Thanks in advance Quote
Brian Posted May 27, 2011 Report Posted May 27, 2011 Memory upgrades have nothing to do with server storage it just increases the amount of available RAM not disk space. If a user needs to upgrade they can always do so. Quote
