Jelikin Posted July 23, 2008 Report Posted July 23, 2008 Is there an RSS feed for announcements and service updates? I think the forum is great for discussing these sort of things, but getting them via a feed reader is much easier than checking the forums on a regular basis. Jelikin Quote
Tony Posted July 23, 2008 Report Posted July 23, 2008 That's a pretty good idea. We'll look into doing that Quote
fenerli Posted August 5, 2008 Report Posted August 5, 2008 I'd also be interested. Jelikin, for the time being, (if you don't know already), you can go the announcements forum and look to the top right of the thread list for "Forum Tools" and select subscribe for email based subscriptions. Quote

Jelikin Well awhile ago I enabled vBulletins data output thing - though I never posted about it. Basically you can grab the last 5 posts or threads from the forum using the forum ID (5 for announcements etc). Use the following for the last 5 threads (THREADS, not posts) from the announcement forum: http://www.hawkhost.com/forums/external.php?type=xml&forumids=5 and use the following for the last 5 posts (so if there's an update it'll jump to the top of the list.. basically the most recently replied in thread): http://www.hawkhost.com/forums/external.php?type=xml&forumids=5&lastpost=true Hopefully that helps, let us know if that doesn't suit your needs. moggy Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 Any chance we could get RSS enabled (external.php?type=rss2) ?? Right now I just get a blank page when trying to view RSS, and type=xml doesn't seem to work in any RSS reader I've tried. Here's a link to the vbulletin manual: http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/vboptions_group_external Quote
