Typo errors: 1) utilizies -> utilizes (http://www.hawkhost.com/Network/index) 2) Your -> You in "Your must include the service type..." (http://www.hawkhost.com/Legal/sla) There are software/scripts that go through the entire website checking for typos and other errors. DeepTrawl is an interesting software - it validates links and images, checks spelling, validates xhtml compliance, checks speed, checks missing seo, etc. Haven't tried it yet but it does sound rather good. You try first and let us know . It has a free 30-day trial but not sure if the trial version limits the number of pages checked. Alternatively, you can use one of the free online website spell checkers: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=spell+check+website

"Our terms of service outlines Our terms of service outlines our payment and refund policies as well as the scope of our liability." (http://www.hawkhost.com/Legal) Phrasal echo -> interesting way to emphasize a point.

Spiffy! Btw, are there 2 servers with the same name "Raptor"? See http://www.hawkhost.com/Network/serverlist
  4. In this business it takes time to be really good - and by that time, it's obsolete. Brilliance takes time. Choose one of the above. Seriously, there's really no urgency as the current site functions well. It's better to have the new site properly designed, developed, and tested before it is released. Prospective customers could easily be turned off by a broken site. Anyways, we had a glimpse of the mascot and it looks good!
  5. Yes, you're right about SWIP. I checked out your Washington IP address and it showed as Dallas. This is so absurd! All these "useful" online tools providing somewhat incorrect information. They must've misinterpreted the data somewhere along the line. I suppose the most accurate will be the tracert command.
  6. http://www.81solutions.com/server-location.html does not provide accurate info because its GeoLite database is not updated with the most current data. MaxMind has the latest info in its database - Enter your server location at http://www.maxmind.com/app/lookup_city?type=geolite and it shows up as Dallas. If you like something visual, you can use http://geotool.servehttp.com/ to check for location of server, domain or IP address.
  7. That was a rather interesting question, Dave, and it piqued my curiosity. I didn't realize Tony had already answered. Anyways, I did a quick test and if a domain.com has been created as an addon, it will have an entry in the DNS server. Any attempt to create a new cpanel account with the same domain.com will give an error: Account Creation Status: failed (Sorry, a DNS entry for domain.com already exists, please delete it first (from all servers in the dns cluster) ) Sorry, a DNS entry for domain.com already exists, please delete it first (from all servers in the dns cluster) Your head can stop spinning now.
  8. Well, thanks for patiently answering all my questions. It's very assuring to us that you have thoroughly tested it out first and gave us an idea of what to expect and watch out for. Your confidence and experience with LiteSpeed definitely helps to allay any concerns we might have regarding the migration. I'm aware that the benefits of LiteSpeed far outweigh any temporary issues that may crop up along the way. It's good that HawkHost will be closely monitoring the servers after the switch. Definitely looking forward to the New Year!
  9. OK, looks good to me. No further questions, Your Honor.
  10. Yes, I took a look at LiteSpeed's case studies
  11. Most LiteSpeed hosts are happy except for eleven2. They started using LiteSpeed in Apr-2007 and after 15 months changed back to Apache in Jul-2008. Their customers had problems with cPanel, PHP5, 408 & 503 errors, and experienced a lot of downtime. Some of their customers were happy with LiteSpeed and some were not. Hopefully these issues should have been resolved by now in the latest LiteSpeed stable release. 1) What contingency plans do you have in the event that some problems cannot be resolved? 2) How are you going to deal with unhappy customers who want Apache back?
  12. No, I wasn't thinking of Lighty. Just from reading other forums, LiteSpeed/LightSpeed are used interchangeably. Quite understandable since they sound exactly the same and have very similar meanings. Wouldn't it be nice to have a webserver running at the speed of light? Btw, why did HawkHost choose LiteSpeed over Lighty?
  13. Interestingly, Cody has heard of LightSpeed. I wouldn't be surprised if LiteSpeed and LightSpeed becomes synonymous over time.
  14. That's mighty generous of HawkHost - TQ!
  15. Erm...will our hosting fees increase due to LiteSpeed licensing fees?
  16. Your blog has a very positive note towards LiteSpeed. The use of certain words gave me the impression that 99.9% of the decision has been made. "Not a whole lot of serious issues just a matter of everyone being on their toes when their server is migrated over."
  17. Would a 4-CPU-Core version improve performance even more dramatically since all your servers are quad-core?
  18. I wonder if it might be better to keep at least an Apache server for some of us who are not ready to migrate to LiteSpeed. There's also the advantage of a safe fallback in case things don't work out right as it sometimes happens.
  19. I believe LiteSpeed is excellent in serving static pages but I'm not sure that it's just as good at serving PHP pages. The benchmark tests in http://www.litespeedtech.com/performance-benchmarks.html show PHP FastCGI on LightSpeed as being 50% faster compared to Apache's mod_php. Since FastCGI by itself is faster than mod_php, their benchmark test does not accurately portray that the 50% speed improvement is due solely to LiteSpeed. I would like to see a comparison of PHP FastCGI on both platforms
  20. It's probably a misspelling then...though a good one. Which flavor (Standard or Enterprise) and version of LiteSpeed do you intend to use?
  21. Is LiteSpeed the same as LightSpeed?
