larry Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 I found out this morning that you can access cPanel over port 80 http://cpanel.mydomainname.com and for webmail over port 80 I just needed to use http://webmail.mydomain.com I assume this only works if you have the DNS setup correctly, and/or pointed to Hawk Host. This is great when I'm at work Figure it might be useful to someone else also. Quote
Tony Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 cPanel automatically creates the dns records for the domain to make this possible. Keep in mind it's using a proxy to do so and it's not as secure as the https version of https://servername:2083/[url=https://servername:2087/] Quote
larry Posted January 21, 2009 Author Report Posted January 21, 2009 Yep, I wouldn't recommend using it in a insecure network (i.e. public wifi) I only use it on my hardwired network at the office. All my other bookmarks point to the https version Quote
LCCEnterprise Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 Yes. This is often there with many of hosts. Just isn't recommended as it's not safe. Quote
themaxx Posted May 14, 2012 Report Posted May 14, 2012 Thanks. Work blocks ports 2083 so this is perfect. Quote
