  1. I'd recommend netearthone from that list they offer the cheapest domains when you spend enough. Also no required deposit initially to get any of those prices so you can work your way slowly to the cheapest domains.
  2. It totally depends on the users location. Dallas is the most central so typically it provides the most consistent performance. I do know some ISP's were having routing issues to Dallas yesterday so if the problems happened then and hadn't before that would explain the issue.
  3. The servers should have no problem serving static files. Typically slowness is more to do with routing and the type of download speeds you get from the servers location.
  4. This has been completed.
  5. On Wednesday May 5th between 11:00am and 12:00pm EDT we will be upgrading the Jupiter server's PHP to the latest version. We do not expect any down time during the maintenance window. We will be upgrading the system PHP to the latest version first then the web servers so for a short time there may be different versions handling command line cron jobs. The reason for this is to address several issues experienced in the last 48 hours that need to be addressed immediately. So we're sorry about the short notice on this being done but it is necessary we get this done as soon as possible so we cannot give a week or more notice. If you have any questions about this maintenance window do not hesitate to contact support. Date: 04/05/2010 Start time (EDT): 11:00am End time (EDT): 12:00pm Estimated Down Time: None Duration: 1 hour
  6. Once your order is approved you should receive an email with all the cPanel login information. Then upon logging into cPanel you should see your dedicated IP listed on the left menu.
  7. Or you could transfer your domain to Hawk Host where private whois is still free
  8. Everything should be back online now. The down time was only about 15-20 minutes for all VPS's on this node.
  9. The machine is back online we are now working on bringing up all the VPS's on the node.
  10. The machine has just gone off line to replace the backup battery unit. It should be back online in about 30 minutes.
  11. This has been completed
  12. This has been completed
  13. We have been notified by the raid card on the Marlin server that the raid cards backup battery has failed. As a result we will be replacing it Wednesday April 28th between 9am and 12pm CDT. This will require us to take the machine off line to perform this window as a result there will be about 30 minutes of down time. This is a necessary maintenance as right now the server has disabled write caching which significantly reduces performance. The battery also protects the system from data loss in case of power failure. Date: 04/28/2010 Start time (CDT): 9:00am End time (CDT): 12:00pm Estimated Down Time: 30 minutes
  14. The drive has finished rebuilding.
  15. The drive has been replaced and is currently rebuilding.
  16. Date: Wednesday, April 28th, 2010 (04/28/2010) Start time: 12:00 AM CDT End time: 7:00 AM CDT Duration: 7 hours Service Affected: Public Network Reason: Network Migration Location: SEA / WDC ================================================== As part of Datacenter's migration to it’s new Nationwide Backbone, Datacenter Engineers will be conducting maintenance on Wednesday April, 28th 2010 (04/28/2010). This maintenance window will serve to migrate the public network in SEA and WDC to the new MPLS enabled network. During this maintenance, traffic will be shifted to other providers while circuits are re-terminated into new equipment. Datacenters: SEA - Seattle, WA WDC - Washington, DC During this maintenance, customers might see packet-loss, routing anomalies, and increased latency as traffic is shifted to other providers. Datacenter will be migrating the following circuits during this maintenance. SEA: - NTT America - Level 3 - Global Crossing - Time Warner Cable - Comcast - Seattle IX - Google - Public Peering to DAL/WDC WDC: - NTT America - Level 3 - Global Crossing - Qwest - Time Warner Cable - Comcast - Equinix - Public Peering to SEA/DAL - Google Again, during this maintenance, customers might see packet-loss, routing anomalies, and increased latency on the public network only. Datacenter Engineers will make every effort to mitigate the effects of this work during the time frame listed above. We expect no impact to private network connectivity during this maintenance.

  18. We have been notified by the raid card on the Ttitan server that one of the drives has failed. As a result we will be replacing it today (April 26th) as soon as possible so we can start the rebuilding process. This will be updated once we start the replacement process. This will be a non service impacting maintenance as the server has hot swap capability. Once the drive has been replaced the server will have slightly higher i/o wait while the new drive are rebuilding. Date: 04/26/2010 Start time (PDT): 10:30am End time (PDT): ? Estimated Down Time: None
  19. Dallas has been completed as for Seattle WA and Washington DC they will be done at a later date.
  20. I suggest making a support ticket we can investigate better from there then play 20 questions on our forums.

During this maintenance, traffic will be shifted to other providers while circuits terminating in Equinix or similar facilities are migrated to the new equipment. POPS: LAX - Los Angeles, CA SJC - San Jose, CA DEN - Denver, CO CHI - Chicago, IL ATL - Atlanta, GA NYC - New York City, NY MIA - Miami, FL Datacenters: DAL - Dallas, TX SEA - Seattle, WA WDC - Washington, DC During this maintenance, customers can expect to see packetloss, routing reconvergence, and high latency as traffic is shifted to other providers. 22. The following has been completed: 1. Turn up of new MPLS routing gear in Dallas complete. 2. Turn up of new MPLS routing gear in Seattle complete. 3. Turn up of new MPLS routing gear in WDC complete. 4. Migration of the private network in Dallas to the new network is complete. 5. Migration of the private network in Seattle to the new network is complete. 6. Migration of the private network in WDC to the new network is complete. 7. Migration of the internal management network in Dallas to the new network is complete. 8. Migration of the internal management network in Seattle to the new network is complete. 9. Migration of the internal management network in WDC to the new network is complete. The migration of the public network has been postponed until Sunday, April 25th, 2010 due to time constraints. A new forum thread will be created about what is being done during that window.
  23. Are you managing your own DNS? If so did you make so to make the MX entries? If you're using our name servers did you make sure to create the actual email account in cPanel?
  24. That's very strange. Mind messaging me your domain or email so I can look up what server you're on.
  25. Date: Saturday, April 24th, 2010 (04/24/2010) Start time: 12:00 AM CDT End time: 7:00 AM CDT Duration: 7 hours Service Affected: Public Network, Private Network Reason: Network Migration Location: All Datacenters ================================================== Datacenter Engineers will be conducting maintenance on the transport gear that provides connectivity between data centers and to peering exchanges. During this maintenance window, traffic will be gracefully shifted to other providers. Engineers will be bringing new backbone routing equipment online in the following locations: POPS: LAX - Los Angeles, CA SJC - San Jose, CA DEN - Denver, CO CHI - Chicago, IL ATL - Atlanta, GA NYC - New York City, NY MIA - Miami, FL Datacenters: DAL - Dallas, TX SEA - Seattle, WA WDC - Washington, DC In conjunction with bringing this equipment online, Engineers will be turning up new circuits linking these locations together. Transit and peering circuits within each location will also be turned in another maintenance window. During this, customer traffic destined for data centers DAL01, SEA01, and WDC01 will be rerouted either over the public Internet or through other paths for private network connectivity. Datacenter Engineers expect minimal impact to customers as traffic will be shifted prior to the event but some routing anomalies are expected during this process as routes re-converge. Once completed and circuits verified, service will return to normal. Again, Datacenter Engineers expect minimal impact to customer services once traffic has been shifted during this maintenance window.
