  4. The caches are warm and everything is responding fast like it should. I'm going to go ahead and close this.
  5. The server has finished booting back up and is now loading all services then it'll just be a matter of warming the caches.

  10. If a VPS node has 16 CPU's it will be shared among the users on the node. It is equal share though and if one user is found using excessive amounts of CPU they may forcefully restricted to more reasonable levels. So all packages are on the same CPU's but obviously we give more leniency to the people with higher level packages.
  11. No big giant centralized office right now just a few satellite offices which connect up to our vpn. This might change a bit in 2011 we'll see.

  16. On Monday December 20th between 12pm and 5pm CST the Bosco server will be having the raid card on the system replaced. Unfortunately at the start of this window backups will be unavailable until the the raid card is replaced. This means during the window you will be unable to access any backups from the R1Soft option in your control panel. The raid card has been reporting more and more frequently errors which we believe it would be wise to replace the card before it results in any data loss. We hope the window will not be for the total time we have just given ourselves this amount of time due to the sheer size of this machine and to have an accurate time frame if we are to run into any issues. Date: 12/20/2010 Start time (CST): 12:00pm End time (CST): 5:00pm Estimated Down Time: 1 hour
  17. If you've never made a ticket you do not have a login. There is no integration between the client area system and support system as last time we were doing it the system was bugged and causing even more confusion so that won't be fixed until new support system is being used. So just use submit a ticket option or if you have a ticket just use forgot password on the page and it'll email you a login to the support area if your email has an account in it.
  18. The cPanel backups that are generated are just organized archives. They can be opened with any unzip program as they are just .tar.gz format. They then contain folders for home directory files, sql files etc. etc. As far as a good way to use those it cPanel does include an API to connect to cPanel. I believe you could then use this to fill in the form and ftp or scp them to an offsite location. I'd use the cron as the way to offsite as a last resort. Your suggestion of remote connect and just do the files and db's works or using my suggestion with the api should also work. Both will require a bit of work and programming though.
  19. Glad to hear it was resolved via the ticket you made. Paypal seems to be having issues posting back now not sure why. I imagine it has to do with the attacks that were launched against it but thats just speculation I don't know for sure.
  20. Did you place just a .htaccess file in the folder or did you add the code that turns off mod_security? I'd recommend making a ticket they can assist you it sounds like you did not actually add the code that turns it off.

    Questions

    1) Check the log file wherever you stored your ruby application. It tells you why it's throwing errors. /home/yourusername/rails_apps/appname/log 2) Web server should never need restarted Ruby from cPanel does not run off the web server but starts mongrel instance.
  22. You should use the temporary ftp address and temporary cpanel url to access them without changing the name servers.
  23. The drives on the server are fine nothing out of the ordinary from them. So it's been determined to just be general file system problem which can happen from time to time when dealing with lots of files. All it takes is one case where a file is removed but was removed previously and a fsck will be required to fix the entire partition even though a single folder or a few may be the culprits.
  24. Cody's definition of shortly must be in months or possibly years.
  25. The drive has been swapped and is currently rebuilding.
