Greetings, have a couple questions and thought I would post here. I am a new client here at Hawkhost and am getting ready to launch a pbpbb3 (version 3.03) site that I installed using your Fantastico.

1)Now that I have the site setup, have I backed this up to start, or am I missing anything that would be needed for a full restore?

a) I have down loaded a complete backup of the forum files using FTP.

B) From within the ACP (in the forum) I have completed and downloaded a full backup.

c)From Cpanel on site I have gone into and used the backup feature to down load a backup of mySQL database

Have I missed anything as far as backing up the site?

2) Now that I have this site completely setup, I noticed that there is a version phpbb3.04 that has just been released. Do you guys offer any support converting from one version to the next? Its my understanding that some web host providers use Patch Files package to update all of your client installations?.

How am I doing?

cheers,

toad

Sounds like you've done your home work with regards to backing up everything. We also have R1Soft which is available in your control panel which automatically backs up your content. We keep 7 days worth of backups at all times.

Now as far as phpbb upgrades, well fantastico has the ability to do 1 click upgrades. Once a new version of software is released it takes fantastico about a week to support the new version.

Thanks Tony.

So with R1soft, do I need to run anything, or does this automatically run and back up?

Also, once the new version is available in fantastico, do you guys offer support with issues in the upgrades, or is this in the hands of your clients?

Thanks again for your quick reply and support....

R1Soft is automatic. It's our back up system which we also give you access to for your account.

Now as far as fantastico upgrades it's really on you. But if your phpbb install doesn't have a bunch of hacks the upgrade should be fine.

I just had to chime in and say R1Soft is the BEST!!!!! HawkHost is the only host I've seen that allows this feature! It has saved me tonight!! :)

THANK YOU FOR HAVING R1Soft INSTALLED!
