sheereora reacted to Tony in Raid Maintenance [03/23/2012]
We've received RAID alerts that one of the hard drives on the Neptune server has failed. On Friday March 23rd between 1:00am and 4:00am EDT we will be taking the server offline to update the raid card firmware along with the currently working drives then finally replace the failed drive. Due to the fact we will be upgrading firmware versions we estimate the server will be down for up to an hour while we do this. The firmware upgrades are necessary as the hard drives are currently out of date and the replacement drive will contain newer firmware. This poses much higher risks of data loss so we've elected to update all the firmware before replacing the failed drive. We're sorry about any inconvenience this may cause but it is necessary maintenance to continue to offer optimal performance and continued data integrity.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact us via our support desk.

sheereora reacted to Tony in Emergency Kernel Update [03/05/2012]
We will be performing an emergency kernel upgrade on the wdc006 server due to a kernel bug causing load averages to be reported incorrectly. As a result of load averages being reported as 2085233585 or higher various cPanel functionality is currently not functioning. We have consulted CloudLinux regarding this and it is a known kernel bug and will be fixed by updating the kernel. We will be rebooting the server between 12:00am EST and 12:30am EST and we estimate the server will be down no more than 15 minutes. We are sorry about the lack of notice on this but unfortunately due to the nature of this issue it needs to be corrected as soon as possible.

    Date: 03/05/2012
    Start time (EST): 12:00am
    End time (EST): 12:30am
    Duration: 30 minutes
    Estimated Down Time: 15 minutes

sheereora reacted to Tony in Shortened March Server Uptime Report
March was a shortened month as we only started doing the new monitoring on the 14th. So keep in mind this dataset is inaccurate and does not reflect the overall uptime that month actually had. I'm going to try to explain any downtime reflected on the reports as well as we generally know why something went down. This report also includes a few images of the uptime. Feel free to use them as you wish.

sheereora reacted to Tony in cPanel 11.25 Upgrade [02/20/2010]
On Saturday February 20th we will be upgrading the Mars server to the latest version of cPanel 11.25. We anticipate this upgrade taking no longer than an hour however with us doing many machines we cannot give a concrete time when each server will be done.

We do not anticipate any service interruptions during this time. cPanel may be slower than usual when the upgrading is being performed though. cPanel 11.25 brings many great new features and has reached stable and has been tested by us in a production environment on a limited number of servers.

If you have any questions about this maintenance window do not hesitate to contact us.
