siti Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 Hi, I want to manually install Joomla. Do I upload the files to the root directory or the public html folder to install? Also, when I tried to upload Joomla I got 'Too many connections from this ip' Tyhowlinlenny 1 Quote
Brian Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 You would install Joomla into the public_html directory. We do offer installations through Sofactulous in your control panel for this software, which makes it very easy to install the most recent version of Joomla. Quote
Clare12345 Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 Hi. I'd love to install Joomla manually. I used to know how to do it but its been a while. I have tried zipping the file with my Mac, then moving the file to the public_html directory with cpanel and unzipping it there. I kept getting parent type page when I opened my website. Finally I tried Sofactulous and it worked, but I need to know how to do it manually. Is there something I am missing? I did not even make it to the page where I'd need to input my database information during the manual install. Please let me know Thank you Quote
Brian Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 We'd need to know the exact issue(s) you ran into along with the steps to replicate it in order to say for certain why the manual install did not work. If you'd like I would suggest giving the manual install a try on an addon domain and if it doesn't work contact our support team so we can look. You mentioned above you had the too many connections from this IP error, if that happens you can login to cPanel and clear the FTP sessions (you're limited to 8 at a time).
