picnroll
Switching webhosts is new for me. I know that times may vary as nameservers are updated & propagated across the internet, but I'm considering switching from my current host (who uses CPanel) to Hawk Host and I'm worried about losing emails during the time that I'm transferring the site and changing nameservers. Do you know how long it typically takes to perform nameserver updates (my domain is registered via Godaddy.com) and whether emails could be lost or if they would retry if the domain is unreachable until the transfer is complete, etc.? Thanks in advance!
Tony
When you switch your name servers it can take up to 48 hours for everything on the internet to see the changes however most see it in a few hours at most. One thing though when you switch your name servers your old account would still work so some mail would arrive at your old host it would not be lost forever.
