Memory Replacement [05/25/2010]

May 25th between 9:00am EST and 12:00PM EST we will be replacing the memory on the Jedi server due to one of the sticks on the server failing. This is necessary maintenance due to the fact the bad stick of memory caused a crash and now the server is reporting the stick of memory as missing entirely. So right now it could be potentially causing stability issues as well as performance problems. We have no reason though to believe for the time being it'll be problematic which is why we're giving a weeks notice. It is however still something that must be done for the long term health of the server. The window is for 3 hours but we estimate that the memory replacement should take between 10 and 20 minutes. Then once that is done we'll bring all the VPS's back up which will most likely take another 10 minutes depending on the size of your VPS. We're estimating about 30 minutes of down time as a worst case scenario for certain VPS's.

To address the concerns about the time of the window. For the majority of the server this appears to be the time when there is the least activity. It also allows us to have more technicians on to deal with potential problems users may experience with their VPS's if they're not setup to start up properly again after being restarted.

If you have any questions or concerns about this maintenance window do not hesitate to contact support.

All VPS's are now online. We're going to login to each just to confirm they're running fine but the server currently shows all as online so we have no reason to believe they would not be functioning.

Sorry I forgot to update this. About 10 minutes after all VPS's were online we confirmed all were functioning by logging into them. If you're experiencing any issues we recommend you contact support at this point.
