poornoob Posted June 5, 2009 Report Share Posted June 5, 2009 Hi, I am new to web hosting and have some questions to enquire before i purchase a vps plan. 1) When i was registering, i noticed a column "hostname" for me to fill in and i was unsure of what it meant. What is the purpose of vps hostname ? 2) When i sign up for standard plan, how many domain/subdomain can i add to it ? Sorry if my questions sounds noob ! Tony Posted June 5, 2009 Report Share Posted June 5, 2009 1) It's basically what the name of the server is. So a valid host name is for example name.domain.com. So you'd probably want to do server.yourdomain.com replacing yourdomain.com with a domain that you own. 2) You could host as many as you'd like.
