Forgive me if there is a simple answer but I simply can't find it.

I am trying to run install_portal.php via my browser (chrome and IE) but I get a 404 message. I know the file is there. If I use ftp:// instead of the header I can see the code but with http:// that is where I get the 404 code. Google indicates that means PHP isn't active but the knowledgebase says it is on by default (at least that is how I read it).

I've tried modifying the permissions (even though you say not to) and that has made no changes.

Not sure where to go next.

Thanks

ahhh figured it out.

I was entering ,mydomain.com/public_html/phpbb/install.php

should have left out the /public_html/

amazing what stepping back and a nights rest can achieve.

Thanks for your time.
