Black Cobra
I am currently looking at moving to a new server, hopefully in the very near future. I currently have a domain problem, where i can change the dns settings... Anyhow, what I need to know is: Are you able to transfer my files form the old server to the new? I am running Vbulletin on my site and need the database moved. Are you able to do that? Do you have someone on your staff that is experienced in the operation of VB and if I run into a server issue, would know how to fix it? I hope you can help. Thanks, Darren
Tony
Are you able to transfer my files form the old server to the new? If your previous web host used cPanel then it is possible to restore a site via cPanel generated backup. I am running Vbulletin on my site and need the database moved. Are you able to do that? Databases are part of the generated back up Do you have someone on your staff that is experienced in the operation of VB and if I run into a server issue, would know how to fix it? Vbulletin is just like any other PHP script. We do not claim to be experts on the software but most issues can easily be resolved. Vbulletin also offers support if it's an issue with their software and not the servers. So they'd be able to provide expert support for their software. Tony
ok. We aren't running cpanel currently. Its plesk = crap Yep unfortunately that would mean a manual migration of some kind which takes much longer and usually should be done by someone who knows the site. You'll end up having to upload all the files and change configuration files to reflect database name changes. Unfortunately this is not a simple process like moving an account that is already on cPanel.
