My site already ranks well in the search engines do I still need a link building campaign? What criteria should I follow when choosing a potential site for a link?

I've read that it is beneficial for you if share links with sites that deal with the same area/field as your site, and that its a negative if you just link to any website that is non-related.

1. Create quality content;

2. Submit your blog to directories related;

3. Submit new content to the blog Social bookmarks;

4. Comment on blogs, websites and related forums;

5. Get links to the various pages of the blog / site.

The first question pop into my mind was what is your site? Is it your personal site or your business site? If it’s a business site yes you should continue with your link building strategies. The reason is not a single site can rank well forever in the same position. It goes up and down due to the Google updates. So it would be great if you can continue.
