It is difficult to control when your visitors visit your site. If it is not resource intensive, even 100 requests per minute should not be a problem for shared hosting.
I guess it depends more on the script you are using and what kind of resources does it require. If just html files, then I am sure shared hosting would be no problem. However, for database intensive scripts, you will probably need to go for something more powerful.
Anyone care to share how they promote their site? It seems that search engines do not like mine. Although I do get a decent amount of hits from referring sites, I don't get many from search engines.
Wordpress. At that time, I was just curious about scripts and so on. Then I changed to SMF forums. That didn't work out well at all. It was a forum on WW2. I spent most of my time exchanging posts in a post exchange forum. Sad. Very few people shared my interests.
