That's exactly the format you'd want to use so you're good and shouldn't run into any issues with SPF record problems going forward.

I realize this is a really old topic, but I just wanted to say thanks for the info. I have a few WP sites that I will eventually be moving to my HH hosting. I'm very impressed with the company and support so far.

tekiegreg got a reaction from Bacpham in I have stupid question about RADIUS Server
Not sure I'm understanding the question, but I'll give it a shot:

Radius servers are elsewhere typically, they have user names and passwords on another server, that you use to authenticate with the hotspot.
    Good article:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RADIUS

Bottom line, if you don't have a RADIUS Server that you know of, this is not going to work.  I'd suggest a Pre-Shared Key (also known as PSK) instead.  That way you only need to remember one password.  If you insist on RADIUS authentication you'll first have to locate/setup the RADIUS server, then setup your Wireless to work with the server.

Our reseller plans include 24/7 support from our team so if you encounter any issues we can certainly attempt to help you figure them out. Even if your issue is outside the scope of our support we can usually advise you on the best way to go about fixing the problem.

tekiegreg reacted to Tony in Linux Weirdness...
The current Linux kernel version and the actual versions being used by operating systems you'll find are vastly different.  For example:
    CentOS 6 - 2.6.32
    CentoS 7 - 3.10.0
    Ubuntu 12.04- 3.2
    Ubuntu  14.04 - 3.13
    Ubuntu 16.04 - 4.4

The reason being stability is a major concern so they'll continue to run the same kernel version.  They will however backport fixes to the version being ran (security, drivers etc).  That is why you end up then with versions like 2.6.32-642.
In our specific case on our VPS's using OpenVZ we're running OpenVZ 6 (CentOS 6) which means a 2.6.32 kernel.  We then use KernelCare for security patches which allows our kernels to be patched live with security fixes meaning less outages caused by us having to update kernels (requires a reboot).

tekiegreg reacted to Tony in Please give advice about spam filter from control panel
I would recommend using the profession spam filter (SpamExperts) as it's significantly more accurate at detecting spam meaning less spam in your inbox.  It also has a simple to use spam quarantine feature which allows you to release, train and whitelist emails that may have been flagged incorrectly.  That means you shouldn't lose any important email at all.

Well it appears the Spammers have smartened up to SpamAssassin with a vengeance now on my end. With the majority of my Spam going right past their filters. I thought about trying to lower the SpamAssassin threshold, but my concern here is I may bust too many innocent emails. What kinds of things have you folks tried to knock the Spam Count down within SpamAssassin these days?

tekiegreg got a reaction from uttebyAlbuple in When is a mailing list considered needing to be outsourced
Currently I run a informal, opt-in mailing list for my Toastmasters club.  Which consists of nothing more than a Mozilla Thunderbird Address book with 20 recipients (and growing by 1-2/week) in a group contained therein.

At what point should I consider being more "professional" aka use the mailing features available in Cpanel, or outsource it completely such as through Constant Contact?  Thoughts?  Thanks!

tekiegreg got a reaction from uttebyAlbuple in All these new TLD's, worth purchasing?
So scrolling through GoDaddy's domain offerings today I see all sorts of wonderful TLD's now some amusing entries are:

.CAMP for only $39.99/year (really, REALLY if I'm running a summer camp or something similar, I'd spend 4x the amount of a .com for a .camp?)
.CODES for $69.99/year (I just have no words...)
    .COFFEE for $39.99/year (again...)

Is any of this truly worth it? Anyone purchased one of the more "niche" TLD's and had any success with generating traffic for .coffee for example?  Or is .COM/.NET/.ORG likely to be the gold standard for sometime to come.  Thoughts, opinions?

So today, webmail wasn't working for me, submitted a ticket to HawkHost.

Me: Help my webmail is slow....

Hawkhost: About how big is your inbox, is it the only email account having problems?

Me: Yup the only one, and I lost track at about 5,000 emails

Hawkhost: Yeah webmail starts to break at around that much.

So, who here is worse at housekeeping their inbox than myself?

BTW: I do a pretty good job spam filtering/cleaning so most of that isn't spam (legitimate commercial email and personal stuff more than likely.

So I decided to get more on the bleeding edge of Wordpress.  Downloading 3.6 RC2 and installing on my blog.  So far so good... Of course I took a precaution and backed up all my databases so I could flatten everything and reinstall from scratch if needed.

For everyone out there, anyone ever have issues with downloading/installing a Beta?  I'll play along and try later Beta's and Release candidates of the newer versions I think.  See what happens.

Hi there, I know there's plenty of still image manipulation stuff out on the web such as ImageMagick, but are there any libraries out there that do video manipulation out there (for example let's say I had 2 videos and wanted to splice 30 seconds of one video into another)?  Does HawkHost implement anything?  Or if I got a VPS could I do it myself?  Thanks!
