I have a Wordpress install set up on an existing domain, but now want to change that domain to a new one that I've already purchased, and then set up the original domain to redirect to the new one. Right now, the new domain is not set up to direct anywhere. What is going to be the best way to accomplish this?

Is anyone else having problems with the low resources allocation for shared hosting?

I hit the limit and get throttled back even when I am editing my WordPress pages!

Although they advertise unlimited space and unlimited domains etc, it is effectively reduced to a few because the resources cannot handle it.

As a minimum there should be 2 CPUs and 30Mb/sec which they have for the expensive semi-dedicated servers.

So anyone else having problems?

It produced this output: MASTER DCV: A rate limit prevents DCV.

Issue: All outbound email flagged as spam regardless where its going to - aol, hotmail, gmail, yahoo, etc.  Aol/yahoo drops the email entirely, hotmail/gmail and some other entities report as spam.

Using different smtp (zoho) provider, email arrives to all of the above and not flagged as spam.

When I view “more information” and then “view cerificate” everything looks fine.

Just wondering why this is?

Currectly I add a blank index.html to each folder, but this is not a good solution. I want everytime someone tried to directly access an existing folder on my website it will redirected to homepage automatically via .htaccess

I thought I'd make the point that even outside the same infrastructure, it can be pretty quick, so I tried some experiments.
The results were rather surprising.

I have Hawkhost shared hosting at two locations: New York City and Dallas.
(Or so I thought: using IP address lookup services, I am told those are in Seacaucus, NJ (which is close enough), and somewhere in Virginia.
I'll assume that the latter is because of some out of date database somewhere.)

I have a couple of VPSes (from other providers), one in New York City (or perhaps New Jersey) and one in Dallas.
I tried doing PING among all these various servers and got these results.

Both directions between the VPS servers: 10/10 packets received, average time 38 ms.

Incoming to Hawkhost shared server in Dallas: (or is it Virginia?)
No packets lost, times were:
From NYC: 79 ms.
From California: 56 ms
From Dallas: 68 ms <<< very surprising!  (see below)

Incoming to Hawkhost shared server in New York:
NYC VPS -> Hawkhost NYC: 4/10 received, avg 1.59 ms (repeated later and 10/10 received)
California PC -> Hawkhost NYC 2/10 received, avg 82 ms (repeated later and 7/10 received)
Dallas VPS -> Hawkhost NYC 3/10 received, avg 36.7 ms (repeated later and 4/10 received)

More packets were lost than received!
But the times were more or less in line with what might be expected.

More about pinging Dallas:

The above numbers (68 ms) is when I ping to my domain.
In that case, ping says the server is
198.252.104.151-static.reverse.arandomserver.com

But noticing that my webmail is on dal210.hawkhost.com,
I tried directing ping THERE and it's a different IP address
198.252.105.24 and it responds without losing any packets
in about 1 ms, which is what I was expecting in the same city!

I just bought a shared hosting from you and I'm still waiting for the activation.

I went back and forth with details required by your level 1 billing team and they said they forwarded this to level 2 billing team.

And since then, I'm still waiting for activation.

Using Resource Usage, I found that when these spikes occur, there is actually NO activity on my Raw Access Logs.

How to transfer a web to another host?

I wonder if this is possible, I have a domain from onlydomains pointed to Wix nameservers, I also have hosting on HawkHost where I can have multiple domains.

I would like to use HH for emails only because this is expensive on Wix, Wix allows changing MX records and generally support having your email hosted somewhere else like G Suite, GoDaddy Email etc.

Would this be achievable with HH? If so what settings should I plug into the MX record on Wix? Or is there some other way I need to move things around?

I deleted some website from my shared hosting, but i still can see the bandwidth status in the Bandwidth section. Is there anyway to delete bandwidth log for one or all website?

While I know it redirects automatically via CloudLinux, should I still update it manually to a newer version? There is nothing extraordinary about the site, just wondering what hazards I might encounter. I am aware that some extensions are not available in newer versions but I don't know much about PHP and don't want to break anything.

Also, I will be building a new WordPress site shortly, how do I ensure it uses the newest PHP version and is there a way to have it update automatically when a new version is released? Or would this not be a recommended idea?
