I installed Wordpress. The install is at it "DomainName.com"/wp/

To see the site and pages on the site visitors would have to go to "domainname.com"/wp/ and "domainname.com"/wp/somepage

I want visitors to type in just "DomainName.com" and see the site. Should I just move everything in the Cpanel File Manager down one directory? Or is there some other way to do it?

If you install Wordpress on a Shared Hosting Account, are they any additional charges?

A friend of mine has an "EasyWP" subscription with Namecheap, which allows
him to set up a Wordpress site. It appears that you do everything through wp-admin,
which you get to by signing in to your Namecheap account, and working your way
through Apps and EasyWP pages. (Possibly you can get to directly through the
client's website, but I'm not sure about that.)

Is that the same wp-admin that would be part of a Wordpress installation here?

In other words, is EasyWP making things any easier over just adding Wordpress to a site here?

On so many websites, for reasons that I cannot fathom,
text is presented on a white background, using a gray - sometimes very light gray - font.

The middle line above is the default (and it appears only) color on this forum, which isn't too bad, but isn't great either.
I have seen many sites which use fonts akin to the top one - light gray.

My question is ... WHY? ... The poor contrast with a white background is just hard to read.
What's wrong with good old stands-out-from-white-background black?

If anyone can enlighten me on what the merits of light-colored text on light-colored background are,
I would be ever so grateful.

I've spent the last few days struggling to get to grips with RVsitebuilder.... If I use that import Wordpress thing under I think it's softaclous? Will that over write every page and code I've built in RVSitebuilder? I just don't get how it works.

Can someone shed some light on the mailing list notification when subscribing members.

Basically for years I just kept a google doc with addresses in there and I am debating adding them all to the list.

When I was at dreamhost they insisted I had to have the users agree to join. I was not able to add them.

I was a bit annoyed at this, but understood of course.

Now I have left Dreamhost and am enabling the mailing list option, but before I add people. Will they get a mass email asking them to agree to be added? OR, can I just add them and not worry about it.

Just worried that if I add them its going to bother them. I am an artist and send invites to shows once every 4 months or so, but its getting tedious and want to just automate everything.

When I say finished i mean your first instance of tagging everything and putting in all the content - not your under construction page, and not solely your homepage, but the other pages in your site.

For me my main site has been registered for 10 months, but did not get around to finishing it until the 9th month. Upon finishing it am now on first page for some juicy keywords, took about a month after completion. So im wondering how long it would have taken if id finished it up earlier and if domain registration lifespan is a factor.

The newest site is an 'add on' and is less than about a month old and finished around 10 days ago, but isn't showing up on google search yet. Is starting to index as indicated by "site:www.mysite.com"...But from past experience know that showing up on GWT and actually showing up on google search are two different things. Sites do not yet register as 'indexed' on GWT.

So to make things clear for readers of this posting please fill in the blanks below please:

1) When did you register your URL

2) When did you start showing up on Google searches by using keywords for search (not using site:www.mysite.com)

3) Primary domain or add on domain

4) When was sitemap submitted?
