We have added a portion to our acceptable use policy outlining chat scripts which over the past six months have become an ever growing problem for us.

The change is only to make it official it help us deal with users better running chat scripts such as shout boxes. We have been working with users for several months now attempting to get these systems under control. For the majority the only solution was to remove them so for us it makes sense to say they're not allowed at all.

We have no plans on actively searching for such scripts or anything of that nature. We also do not plan to enforce it on live support scripts or anything similar to them. This is primarily focused on shout box systems on forums that we've seen generating as much as 100,000 page views a day on small traffic sites (under 3000 visitors a day).

If you have any questions about the policy change please contact us.
