After numerous customers brought this to our attention we decided it was about time to fix it!
Upon installing cPanel it "self signs" the SSL certificate - which is fine but most modern browsers will prompt you with an error saying there's a mismatch / not valid. To solve this issue we've purchased SSL certificates for each machine that's been signed and authorized by a third party to prevent these errors and to let you rest assured your data is indeed encrypted.
When logging into cPanel using http://yourdomain.com/cpanel you'll be redirected to the hostname of the server on it's secure port with a valid SSL certificate.
