  1. Has anyone done much emailing through their site. We are looking at sending a subscription based newsletter of about 10,000 emails every 2 weeks. Most mailings would have a PDF attachment. I noticed some interesting software at Softaculous on C-Panel. A couple programs appear adequate. Would appreciate hearing comments from anyone who has used it or perhaps has other software to recommend.
  2. I have one website with Hawk Host now. Would like to develop several more. These will not be large sites and bandwidth will likely be low. Questions: 1. Is it easier managing a handful of small sites using a reseller package or using basic individual sites for each. 2. If I go to a reseller package, can that package later be easily increased if traffic warrants. Comment Got my first site on Hawk Host about a year ago. They've been absolutely tremendous. I notice others seem genuinely happy too. They help us so how might we help them? Noticed someone designed a favicon for them. How about a small logo plus "Powered by Hawk Host" which could be placed on our index pages. Perhaps there's a downside I'm missing. If not, why not consider it. Bob
  3. Does it matter which namesserver is listed as primary? As normal, hawkhost gave me 2 nameservers. I assumed nameserver ns1 should be primary. In my registrar's system, I plugged in ns1. as primary and saved but for whatever reason, their system keeps recording ns2. as primary, ns1. as secondary. Will this cause a problem?
  4. Thanks for the reply, Tony. Very much appreciated. I'm still in the learning mode about hosting. After reading this forum and your answers to others, I believe Hawkhost would be a good place to host. Your answers make a lot of sense. You are open and candid. I'll be in touch. Regards, Bob Brumell
  5. I have a dreamweaver website and small vBulletin forum 3.6.8 same as here. Been with present host 3 - 4 years. Very big outfit. No real complaints except server is gradually slowing. Today it was pitiful and collapsed for 30 minutes. Meanwhile they've become a large host. Support is more remote. Our problem is we are about to aggressively promote our site. There's nothing worse than a slow bulletin board. So here's the question. Your "Standard" shared package would be more than adequate. However, if I went with your "Advanced" or "Super" package, is forum response likely to be faster...... or remain faster during periods of heavy server load? Bottom line, does size matter? Will your larger package produce greater speed. No puns please
