  1. Certainly a lot of verbiage in the original post but I for one have no idea what the real complaint is here. I've always found the service from Hawk Host to be first class and I'm into year three.
  2. I've used a half a dozen hosting companies over the last 15 years with various levels of satisfaction. Although it's temtpting to be cynical about the great reviews in the forum for HH, they are impressively and consistently that good and the best I've ever used.
  3. Hi I have a reseller account and today I went into one of my domain control panels via WHM and used the file manager to delete all the files on a redundant account. Even as I clicked the delete button, I saw it was the wrong domain. Sinking feeling and mild panic. I knew Hawk Host have a restore application but I'd never had to use it and this was a database driven site not just html - not that it should make a difference but it would have been a lot of work to re-build the site. So I fired up 'R1 Soft Restore', selected the last backup and the site was fully restored in minutes. What a great service. Thanks roadsie
  4. Hi For what it's worth and without considering the security issues, I use Edit Plus for quick edits via ftp, it's a commercial program but there is a free alternative called PSPad which is also very good. http://www.pspad.com/en/ http://www.editplus.com/
  5. As a result of Tony's reply to my original query with the reassurance of 24/7 ticket support I've now signed up for a reseller account. The service so far is excellent and on the occasions where I've needed help (how-to queries mostly) I've found the replies to be quick and, as Fowler says, very helpful. I highly recommend HH.
  6. Hi Tony Thanks for your reply. Round the clock support is good especially if it's from real human beings. I'd like to ask about an aspect of branding using webmail. If I access webmail with a URL such as http://www.mydomainname.co.uk/webmail is it redirected to something like https://www.hawkhost.com:2096/roundcube/ thereby losing any branding of the hosted 'mydomainname' company or my company name as the reseller? No doubt the IP address could be used to access webmail (making it fairly anonymous to most users) but it would probably be blocked as a phishing site. Roadsie
  7. Hi I'm looking to move my reseller account and you have very good reviews for your service and support. As I'm in Europe (UK specifically) my main concern is that if your service should go down for any reason the time difference would be a major factor in any response to a support ticket. The nightmare scenario is waiting all day for a response while customers are screaming at me for 8 hours because they have no email/ecommerce/website. I don't expect you guys to stay up all night but can you comment please? Is European support impractical for you? Any UK user experience would also be welcome. Thanks
