  1. If I point the name server to HH and then point the MX records back to Network Solutions will there be a down time on the email? The company pushes probably atleast 2000 emails a day so I'd have to make sure I did it in the middle of the night if a 2 hour downtime is the case. Thanks! (EDIT: I'll just contact support, but I feel like the down time question could be good for reference!)
  2. My work wants to point a domain name they have on Network Solutions to my Hawk Host account. I've done this many times before but I am in a new situation where they use Network Solutions for 40 or so email accounts associated with the domain name and want to maintain this. Based on what I read it sounds like changing the DNS records as normal would point the email to my Hawk Host server and break everyones email. How can I point their NS domain to my Hawk Host account while keeping the email on NS? If I can get this sorted out I plan on upgrading my shared account to a VPS to support all the traffic (I'm already at 97% of my allotted disk space anyways), so there is something in it for you guys Thanks!
  3. I will contact support and post my results here, thanks! I ran 3 of my sites at once and my CPU usage didn't spike above 16% so I am inclined to believe it is not that.
  4. I am on Jupiter and over the last month or so (since the huge ATT outage) my hosting has been having increasing problems. I was just using my FTP to upload a 2KB icon via FileZilla and after I started the upload and it took almost 5+ seconds for the server to process the request, sometimes it just doesn't process the upload at all and I have to cancel. This has been happening repeatedly over the last week or so. The FTP used to respond instantly to all my requests. I am temporarily hosting 2 websites for a client and he has been complaining that the sites have been running slower recently and I have noticed it as well. I just loaded one of the sites and it sat at a white screen for 15 SECONDS saying that it was "connecting" "waiting" "transferring data" from my server. At the 15 second mark it finally started to load elements of the page and was done by about 20-25 seconds. This is ridiculous. I loaded the other site and it took almost 20 seconds at a white screen before anything started to load. I can assure you that a month ago all of these sites loaded instantly and that it has nothing to do with how the sites were designed. I have seen refreshes take 10+ seconds. Whats the deal? My punishment for buying the cheapest plan?
  5. All up and running good for me now, thanks guys!
  6. I am in Orange County area on ATT, my site is completely unaccessible.
  7. Can new SQL databases be created using phpMyAdmin or must it all be done using cPanel? Thanks Kyle
  8. Hey guys, I registered a domain name on hawkhost (www.avrubberstamps.com) with plans of hosting the site here. In a change of plans my boss has decided he wants to host the site with the host that the rest of his company uses. I talked to their IT guy about linking the domain to them and he sent me this: "Do you have any info on the domain name and who is hosting the DNS? I will need that info so I can setup the site." What should I say about who is hosting the DNS? What information should I provide? Thanks! Kyle
