Garry reacted to Tony in XenForo memcached setup how to use it?
Looks like a similar solution to phpbb where they refer to the php memcached extension as Libmemcached.  As for checking if it's working you'd be best to open a ticket.  Although for most applications if it's not working they typically end up hanging or throwing an error.

I haven't tested this but I'd imagine this post here is still valid.
Usually you can point to a socket using the unix:// method as noted above. Please let me know if this works!

Our DNS servers are remote so if the web server goes down then DNS would be served.  We also utilize anycast for our DNS infrastructure and have DNS servers in numerous diverse locations.  We do this for performance and redundancy purposes.

It's something we've considered however the demand is pretty low at this time. If enough people express interest in reseller services in Amsterdam we'll definitely start offering it.

You'll want to add the following record under the 'Include' section in the 'Email Authentication' interface in cPanel:

    _spf.arandomserver.com

That should take care of everything for SPF when using SpamExperts. If you run into any issues doing this our support team will also be able to add the record for you.

We have a big back log of orders and tickets related due to our black Friday promotions. We're working through everything as fast as possible. Sorry about the delays!

    Hi,

I have got the Standard shared plan and am thinking about having an SSL Cert. for the account for the order system.

I understand a dedi IP is $3 per month.

    1. How is this billed, as in will it be a different date to my shared plan or will it be put in line with it?
    2. Will my site have any downtime when the IP is changed?
    3. Is there any install cost from you?
    4. How would I get the CSR?

Alright - we'll definitely be evaluating this in a month or two (Amsterdam in specific). Thanks for the feedback!

    Hi,

Are there any plans to install PHP 5.5.x on ams001?
As it would be handy for development purposes.

There should be a tool in CPanel that can fingerprint all files/dirs - after an hack attack then it would be easy to have changed/missing files listed by the click on a button. It would help enormously restoring the website.

A file backup is only useful when you have an complete and authentic backup of all files!

Should be a standard tool included in CPanel by default

    good idea?

All of our plans support the use of sftp and SSL for mail. sftp you just need to make sure shell access is enabled on your account, and if it isn't already (it should be) contact our support team for access.

For email you need to use the servers hostname as the incoming/outgoing server as the certificate is signed to that hostname. The server you're on can be found in cPanel but again if you need help with those settings let our support team know.

Just add the following to your .htaccess file (create one if doesn't exist) in the folder you wish to run PHP 5.3 (all child directories will run it as well)

    AddType application/x-httpd-php53 php

Besides cPanel being ready for IPv6, what about the hardware aspects? Has Softlayer announced their plans for incorporating IPv6 into their network infrastructure?

Brace yourself and see what happens if we're not ready for IPv6:

Seriously, I think all systems affected should focus their efforts on being ready for IPv6 and consider it top priority for 2011. There are so many interconnectivities in our systems today that if any part is not ready, the whole system fails.
